Week 5 run 3... Second time success!
After a horrific first try of W5R3 with
shin
splints
, i rested for 4 days and went out again today and completed it!!! The relief of doing it was incredible and i ran at a decent pace until the final minute and a bit after Laura said '2 minutes to go'. So chuffed!

Shocked !!!
Hi everyone, just having a bit of a moan. Along with RA/PMR/DIABETES and dealing with the meds, I have had some sun damage skin on my face which was treated with liquid nitrogen back in 2010. This came back quite slowly and was treated last October by my GP with a cream. The problem came back again

VISUAL CONTRAST SENSITIVITY TEST may reveal conditions with underlying infections like biotoxins, lyme disease and deficiencies.
This is an interesting test you can do online for free even though they would like a $10 donation but not necessary. There are certain markers in your test showing where the weaknesses may be. I wouldn't try to diagnose anything from it but if you have high scores it may give you a lift. I think

Failed week 5 run 3.... The curse of the shin splints
Just attempted week 5 run 3 (in the rain) and my
shin
splints
got so painful at 11 minutes I had to stop and couldn't walk... Frustration is high, I stopped stretched tried to carry on but my head was out the game completely and I stopped after another 4 mins. I've got a 5k in 3 weeks :/.

Cellulitis survey
The LSN are involved in some research into cellulitis and have been asked to encourage as many of you as are able to fill in the online questionnaire linked below - it only take a few minutes and may lead to some very relevant further studies. Please use the link below or copy and paste into your search

Week 5 run 2 done... dreading run 3
Managed it but still getting
shin
splints
on one leg even with all the stretching I've been doing etc. Just got to crack it. Dreading the 20minute run tomorrow... I've got 3 weeks until a 5k in London with all my friends who are supporting me to do this 5k (the only reason we are doing it!).

Self medicating
I think if I go down root of self medicating I won't b advising my gp of what I'm doing.prob won't even notice now, as endo discharged me she won't check my bloods for another year, so will have to arrange myself. But what about the poor people with very limited funds who can't afford to self medicate.it

Frustrated
However, I've pretty much had
shin
splints
on and off since, taking a month off in november and 3 weeks off in feb and only had about a months worth of running utterly pain free in january before I did a far too long/fast run on concrete in feb which set me back by bringing back all my injuries I thought

Anniversary-ish
It took me a while, an extra few weeks mostly due to
shin
splints
, and no I couldn't cover 5k in 30 minutes either. It took ages for that to happen, and I can get under 29 now if I really push. I'm happier, healthier, thinner and apparently look younger than my 47 years.

I tried to run a few years ago but quite severe lower back pain,
shin
splints
and my dodgy knees (from lost of martial arts in my youth) all combined to make running excruciatingly painful.

Injury advice needed :)
It settled down very quickly with a bit of ice and Ibuprofen afterwards but again today its what I would call uncomfortable rather than painful but I'm aware of it I've googled it and everything I've read suggests
shin

however it only came on a couple of days after my Tuesday night run so i'm

Skin cancer update
To all my fellow runners and colleagues who've followed C25K. Like many of you a few years ago, I decided to change my lifestyle, lose weight, get fit etc and start back running. To my surprise last year I was diagnosed with Basil skin cancer on my ear, I write this in the hope it may help others who

Should I try again?
Hi All, I have now made several attempts at the C25K reaching the 20 minute marker once, on each occasion I have been in discomfort with some kind of injury
shin
splints
, hip pain and have been to see the NHS podiatrist as I have flat feet, they suggested running was not for me and I should try an alternative

My Story
Here is my story of when my anxiety all began.. I never knew what triggered my anxiety and what took over my life until things fell in to my place and I realised my accident which happened back in 2013 could of been the start to this horrible illness 'anxiety' anyway back in December 2013 I was badly

Wk 3 Yay! Then shin splints...
Have had
shin
splints
years ago and used to get them after long walks as I have very, very tight calf muscles. Am gutted. But am going to have gait checked later and new shoes [ran in existing trainers so far]. Hoping this will help. Should I go back and do wk 3 again?

Re-running W5
I've heard and read about the infamous "
shin
splints
" I'm hoping its not that and that its just I've not warmed up or down very well the last few runs due to time constraints.
