I think if I go down root of self medicating I won't b advising my gp of what I'm doing.prob won't even notice now, as endo discharged me she won't check my bloods for another year, so will have to arrange myself. But what about the poor people with very limited funds who can't afford to self medicate.it makes my blood boil.

Those people who are dismissed as not having a problem with their thyroid gland due alone to the blood tests (or who haven't reached the magic number in TSH) have to struggle and be given any other type of medication for their clinical symptoms but not hormones and their lives are a struggle and thought of as hypochondriacs. Doctors nowadays do not diagnose upon clinical symptoms, neither do they know any - if they did it would give them clues as to what maybe wrong with patient.
That is exactly how I feel tactano50 and yet another reason why someone, since 'they' effectively took out Dr S and his World Petition, out there needs to continue the good fight.
That Dr S could be 'taken down and out' is an outrage. As I have said to docs/endos, 'hypothyroidism will surely go down as one of the most scurrilous scabs on medicine' from the mid 20th C to 21st Century to date... without those incredibly brave, smart and conscientious people out there who [historically] did so much in this field, I don't know where we would be right now without their 'legacy' left to us.
