Shin splint advice
Following some great advice here, I have been to a specialist shop, had a gait analysis and bought some more appropriate shoes which will hopefully help with my
shin
splints
(for me pain on outside front of
shin
).

Athlete’s foot
Week 8, Run 2 complete and I’m 60! Happy with progress even though I’m slow but I have Athlete’s foot. Wanted to finish the programme before going on holiday next week. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, did you stop until it healed?

Thyroid illness anyone? Maybe not.
I have written at some length on here before about misdiagnoses. We believed for many years that my daughter was suffering from hypothyroidism and other related endocrine problems. She was tested and treated privately in Britain and Belgium for those conditions. However, we were wrong. We didn't dig

Week 1, Run 1
I've tried before and failed: I've had
shin
splints
, I've been too scared to leave the treadmill, I've been embarrassed. But last night, I took my running clothes to work and at 5pm, I got changed and went out in the freezing cold rain and completed Run 1. I feel elated!

Anyone had shin splints?
Hi All, have any of you out there had any experience of
shin
splints
? I think this is what I have as I have paying close to the bone in the muscle of my calves (both although one is worse than the other).

Nutrition helped soreness
I had the pain in ankle for some months. I looked up posts of Dr. John Byrd at Ohio State, an expert on umbrivica. He recommends magnesium, calcium, vitamin D supplements. It helped me. Best read his comments, not just mine.

I'm getting pain on outer
shin
/ bone, so not sure if its
shin
splints
, think they're supposed to cause pain on the inner leg of shin bone.

Gum boil and surgery
Has anyone here had a gum boil that required surgery? My situation has developed as the result of a fall back in the 1980s that broke my jaw. Now I have severe bone loss in the area around a tooth near the jaw break and have developed this gum boil at the surface which implies infection underneath.

Any Treatment Options?
I was diagnosed 3 years ago with Lupus/Sjrogens/Hughes (already had Hashimotos's) This came on or was triggered after being hospitalised with severe Neurological Lyme Disease where I was hospitalised for many months and with nursing care at home for nearly 2 years back in 2009 - I never really got better

Week5 R3 - headphones?
I started doing C25K a couple of years ago, but got horrible
shin
splints
in week 4 so gave it up, mind, I was running in crappy 10 yr old trainers...trying again this year, wearing some proper footwear this time, off the fags too, really enjoying it so far!
