Cellulitis Concern
Does it hurt ? Do you have a fever ? If you think you have cellulitis you should go to the doctor ASAP. Look up the symptoms and see if you have them.
I've had it now about 3 or 4 times and, yes, discoloration will remain so I'm told
My leg goes redder when I'm standing up without compression but returns to normal colour after being elevated for a few minutes. However 30 years on, the swelling has never returned back down to previous level.
Hi there, I can only speak from my own experiences of cellulitis in that both of my legs are discoloured following bouts of cellulitis. The colour - brownish/red - never goes away completely and each episode leaves the colour more pronounced. This despite good skin hygiene and moisturising twice daily.
Hello Anne16,
It is the same with both my legs (below knee), feet and big toe, sort of leaves a reddish brown colour fades to a mottled brown where the cell has reached. Does this sound familiar to yours too. My right leg (below knee), is looking near norm as possible, but the left is still bigger than the right, both same colour pattern but can not understand left being different size. Makes me feel a freak of some kind.
Sorry for coming in between post but saw this and thought I would ask, hope you don't mind me asking. xxxx
Have you tried following the 'low carb real food' approach to diet? I am now in my 70's having lived with my big leg since a teenager - in the early years of course we did not have the plethora of industrially produced foods and the dangerous industrially produced seed oils and advice to base our meals on the high number of starchy foods. The seed oils are inflamatory and the starchy foods overload the body with sugar and also inflamatory. Personally I wear very heavy compression daily, but the skin on my big leg has remained in excellent coindition - since returning to the low carb real food lifestyle 15 + years ago.
