Appendectomy - when is ok to run again?

Hello, I’m new to this forum & would appreciate your advice please.

I had acute appendicitis 12 days ago & had it removed using laparoscopic surgery. I had been training to run 10K by May & prior to the surgery I had already rested 3 weeks due to shin splints.

I can’t seem to find any information on when it will be safe to start running again after keyhole surgery, just wondered if anyone was in a position to offer advice?

Thanks

Your doctor would be the one to ask Were not doctors on here so we can’t give specific advice 🙂

I googled “exercise after keyhole appendectomy” and that threw up an answer 🙂

Yes I saw that too but it wasn’t specifically for running. I was just told no driving for 2 weeks & no heavy lifting for 6. I’ll contact my GP. Thank you. 🙂

Good luck with your post op recovery.

I think that is a question for your surgeon or GP to answer.
