PCD Management Advice
My children are on Hypertonic
saline
solution in nebulizer daily, physio, and azithromycin 3 times a week. However, they continue to get bad chest infections and most times it takes 2 or 3 weeks of Augmentin DUO to get them better again. And they always have a really bad runny nose and wet cough.

/silicon implant - but does this get impacted by the fact that I need radiotherapy too. 2. Abdominal flap method - this I'm told has the best results in terms of healing of both the sites.

Atypical Asthma in Hospital
I had to practically beg for a nebuliser, and when they brought it they only wanted to give me
saline
. I threw a (very weak, very quiet) tantrum until they gave me salbutamol, but that took nearly 2 hours of continuing respiratory distress on my part.

New year, same lungs
I bargained with the OOH doc but he wasn't comfortable prescribing me Flix on top of my (already maximum dose) Seretide as that is a decision to make with the resp consultant later on in the month, so I'm on Prednisolone at 25mg/day for a few days and then taper down again, doxycycline, and
saline
nebs

HA is ruining my life.
I just put hot tap water into the neti pot and put the
saline
salt in there and rinsed my sinuses. Well this totally freaked me out and I've been battling with health anxiety for a while now.

Af and hydrodilation
I had a frozen right shoulder a few years ago one had hydrodilation which involves injecting a dye into the shoulder joint then
saline
, anethesetic and steroids into the joint to over inflate it and break up the adhesions, not nice but it worked.

Home, but it's hard..
We tried to cut them down and added in
saline
nebs after the second attack. Eventually we got down to 6-hourly Ventolin nebs, 2
saline
nebs, and 2 Atrovent nebs, then to 3 Ventolin nebs, 3
saline
nebs, and no Atrovent nebs (just inhaler).

Advice Needed - Test result. IgE 1142, precipitin positive, other severe illnesses, no treatment?
Started squirting a
saline
solution up each nostril every day and sinus symptoms seem to be getting slightly better (tinnitus definitely has improved, which is fantastic as it was SO loud constantly), and nasal drip has started.

News puts son in a panic!
He has now been put on a mask with a
saline
bottle to moisten the air to his chest at a higher level. They have also found a few problems with his liver and kidneys but they put it more down to treatment and the infection than a major issue.

Silicone and Lupus
saline
filled implants are no better because they are enclosed in silicone bags. I had a good hematologist during this time that did some very sophisticated tests while I was sick and he just kept shaking his head, he could not believe the crap he was finding while I had the silicone in.

Thyroid hormone (levothyroxine) replacement via the respiratory route by inhalation
RESULTS: Solubility profiles of T4 were established in aqueous (PBS, HBSS, isotonic
saline
) and non-aqueous solvents (PEG 400, PEG 600, propylene glycol, glycerine). Transport of the compound across Calu-3 cells suggested involvement of active transport systems.

Slow letters to GPs
Why is it that consultants secretaries take so long to send letters to GPs? I know from experience that it does take a while usually about 3 weeks for the letters to be typed and forwarded to GPs but 5 weeks on and I am still waiting for my GP to get a letter from my Scleroderma specialist, to the extent

Feeling sick
I've been using cough drops, drinking tea, using
saline
spray for my nose, drinking water and eating oranges. Does anyone know what else might help ? I had my first bloody nose ever in the car today. I think that it was a result from having crust in my nose and blowing it out super hard.
