here, I have just spend a frustrating 30 minutes on the phone to my GP, well not my GP after 6 months he has left - I am sure it was not me falling into his chair twice that made him run - so I am now without a GP until September anyway I digress another Dr from the practice called and we managed the saline

brittle asthma for about 4 years now. i had lung disease as a baby and it developed from that they say. i am on a range of medications and which swoop and change on a appointment to appointment basis. i am under a consultant at the royal hallamshire hospital at sheffield. i neb everyday 3 - 4 times with saline

Using a plastic squeeze bottle (Neilmed Sinus Rinse; www.neilmed.com) the nose, sinuses and upper part of the back of the throat can be irrigated with a saline and baking soda mixture.

I have been cleaning it with saline then dressing it with mepitel, mepilex and then mefix. I thought the mepitel would help it not stick to the mepilex as its very weepy, but when I take the dressing of it just starts weeping again. It's impossible to keep dry too.

Could someone tell me what saline nebs are supposed to do please? During my recent admission they used them regularly (as well as salbutamol and atrovent nebs) but haven't continued them or anything similar - I just wondered what their purpose was as it was never explained?

My current meds are Flixotide inhaler or nebs Salbitamol nebs and salbutamol inhaler Tilade Phylocontin Accolate Atrovent nebs Oxis inhaler Saline nebs I don't really want to have my meds increased further but is there anything that might be worth trying? Thanks Wanda

Hi all Have been prescribed hypotonic saline to neb by RBH and as it comes in bottle with rubber seal need needles syringes and sharps bin. Just been to GP today to pick up script and can have saline but not needles or sharps bin etc errr WHY??

Hi I've been using my little omron microair to nebulise my pulmicort as I'd been advised so long as I added saline to it it would be OK. The NWLC are now querying if it is actually up to the job, the thinking being my asthma is out of control because I'm not getting the right dose.

Does anyone use this in a neb? Would appreciate some information. Hope everyone is managing OK. Take care.

I wasn't given salbutamol nebs as I'd already had well over 10 puffs but was given oxygen, saline nebs, IV hydrocortisone and IV piriton (I think that's what it was).

Also is it best to do saline on its own or can you mix it with bricanyl and atrovent, as when in hossie various nurses said different things !

I am really fed up with nothing working anymore and spending every summer costafied, i currently take desloratidine and piriton but have tried fexofenadine, cetirizine,levocetrizine ,loratidine, terfenadine and various others in the past to no avail i cant use any nasal sprays apart from saline and

Recently he had to go into hospital overnight for saline neb which helped but his parents have never been offered advice re buying a machine.

I am being treated for the Mucus Hypersecretion with daily 7% Salt Saline Nebulisers but nothing yet for the Irratic Breathing as they aren't sure how to treat it.

Is it ok to use the water or does it have to be Saline?

My last admission the team swapped me over of symocort and gave me saline nebs to try. At the same time my poor GP managed to get hold of my consultants team in Birmingham to get there advice!

Last night i tried a saline neb but it made my wheezing worse. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Takecare sadwheezer.

I currently use desloratidine, piriton, opticrom and saline nose spray specifically for hayfever, but despite these meds as well as my usual asthma meds things are not controlled.
