When I purchased the dried Methylcobalamin from Oxford Biosciences, they gave instructions as to where to obtain the saline ,and also how to add thesaline..They suggested BODFELD APOTHEKE de (in Germany) But you can get it at other German online chemists. You should rearch for KOCHSALZLOESUNG, or NATRIUMCHLORIDLOESUNG or perhaps the PZN reference which is 2737779. You can't buy it without prescription in U.K! You break the plastic ampoule and squirt the saline directly into the little phial with the dried B12.Hope this helps.

I an amazed to hear that you have bought injectable saline in UK. I was told that one has to have a prescription for it! But perhaps you have a prescription?

No I haven't got a prescription for it.

If you Google water for injection in uk. You will see loads of various websites to purchase from.

Alot of people have posted on here that you can purchase in uk without prescription

Hi Wedgwood. Just thought I'd say thanks for posting the information above. I've also purchased methylcobalamin from Oxford Biosciences and have spent hours looking for injectable saline - that is until I found your German translation for the search term (NATRIUMCHLORIDLOESUNG).  Just bought 10 x 10ml amps from mycare.de. A ridiculous price for sterile salty water (about £18)!! But needs must.  Now well on the way to self injection.  Fingers crossed that it'll do some good.

Thanks again.

But I thought that SALINE was needed, not water. Or doesn't it matter? I'm confused now!

I purchased it from Exchange Supplies....It is Saline for Injections.

They are based in uk.

Alot of people on this forum have recommended it.

Exchange supplies state that they no longer supply saline, just water.

I'm not sure if using water for IM injections would be OK. Pure water would enter the muscle cells via osmosis, possibly causing them to burst. Isotonic saline would not do this.

Maybe have to do some proper searching for this.

Hi

If you go to Exchange Supplies website &enter saline in the search it's there.

I called them up and spoke to them before ordering it.

Yes. One item comes up in that search. When you click on it you get taken to the product page - exchangesupplies.org/shopdi...

Which is headed by this announcement...

"Please note that we no longer stock this product"

Hi Wedgewood. I spoke to Oxford Biosciences and they said that Saline was the best thing to mix their dry powder methyl cobalamin with but that sterile water would be okay if I could not get injectable quality saline (I have a source for the saline now). One of the reasons is that saline has the same composition as body fluids so will not sting as much as saline when injected. It took me a while to find - Amazon seems to sell sterile in pods but I think these seem to be for eye irrigation etc and Personbaly I would never use these to inject. But that might be just my choice. Hope this helps
