Saline

Using saline rinse and taking an echinacea supplement at the first sign of a cold helped a lot. Doing so also helped prevent the cold from developing into a sinus infection. I haven't had a sinus infection within the last three years.

If the pain is too severe to use a toothbrush at all, your nurse may advise you to use a swab soaked in saline to clean around your teeth and gums. You may be advised not to floss if your platelets are low, as this could cause your gums to bleed because the blood is less able to clot.

I managed to get things under control using saline nebuliser with an acapella duet attached and didn’t have an infection for almost two years. However I had my son (second child) in January and my chest continued to be ok.

I take Fostair, Qvar, Seebri and ventolin, and have Salbutamol, Atrovent and saline nebules. Many thanks

Anyone know if IV fluids received today, (like a bag of saline) would affect blood test results taken tomorrow? If that makes sense. Especially iron, iron saturation, ferritin & b12....? And possibly hemoglobin?

Cannot eat at all, put on a saline drip and high protein food straight into the stomach. Apparently the feeding tube to the stomach has thickened, so wont let food through. They are going to try to put a stent in to widen it this Thursday, please keep your fingers crossed for me it works.

I have so far tried over the counter steroid nasal spray, Avamys (GP prescribed steroid spray), saline sinus rinse and steaming. So far though nothing has provided any relief. I’m not sure what the cause is (e.g allergy, inflammation).

Once the saline drip had run through, and they were happy with the radiation levels, I was allowed to go home. For the first week after the treatment I was not allowed to get within a metre of anyone else for more than 15 minutes.

I’ve posted about this before but I had a theory: if someone’s lymph nodes are already enlarged, could the slight irritation from the hypertonic saline cause pain in the lymph node regions due to the immune response? If that doesn’t make any sense then let me know and I’ll try to rephrase it 😂

His opinion was a very severe reaction to the chemo drugs and that the anti sickness they have given me is clearly far from sufficient and it maybe that pill format is not appropriate for me - in fact he thinks it would have been more appropriate for saline fluid to have been given beforehand any way

Also, once mixed with sterile saline, for how long will the solution be safe to use? Is it mixed in the vial in which the B12 comes in? What is the average expiration date of an unopened bottle that has not yet been mixed? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Paraphimosis after a severe episode of this my doctor told me not to pull my foreskin back I now clean my penis head with cotton buds but I hav recently had a bit of discharge I have sent off for some anticeptic saline pods which I mix with the warm is this ok to do regards ray

He put me on Eyelea and insisted that the iodine was washed out with saline. He also found a corneal abrasion which I have ointment for. I cannot explain the difference this all made. My eye literally stung a little for a couple of hours and that was it!
