Hello. Am wondering if any of those who use this brand have any feedback on the products? I know methylcobalamin is light sensitive, is it heat sensitive as well? Thinking that shipping to the US from the UK might take a couple of weeks, at least, and wondering how well it would hold up during transit in the hot summer months. Also, once mixed with sterile saline, for how long will the solution be safe to use? Is it mixed in the vial in which the B12 comes in? What is the average expiration date of an unopened bottle that has not yet been mixed? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

As the methycobalamin you mention is a adehydrated powder , it should not suffer from the journey to the USA. Methycobalamin is much more sensitive than Hydroxocobalamin or Cynocobalamin. Once mixed it must be refrigerated. I tried it once but didn’t find it better than Hydroxocobalamin. Also became really concerned about using injections from such a large pre-mixed vial . I had been used to using one -use 1mg glass ampoules which are obviously a safer option . So I actually threw it away after a few injections .For me it was .no

better than Hydroxocobalamin in its effect on me . I think it’s too risky to use in such a large quantity . One use glass ampoules are the safest option in a domestic situation . Too many chances of contamination otherwise .

Thank you for your candid report. I have found that I actually do better with the methylcobalamin but cannot afford the cost from a local compounding pharmacy. Do you know of online sources for one dose ampoules? Since they are pre-mixed, is it safe to assume that product degradation is a concern with these and, therefore, long transit times could present an issue?

Methylcobalamin is not produced in ampoule form in U.K. , and anyhow would only be available on prescription ( like in USA?) I know of a very good small laboratory in Munich , called Arnika ( you can look them up. Arnika Apotheke , Munich .) that does produce 1mg/1ml ampoules . These cost about £55.00 for pack of 10 including courier to U.K. ( no prescription needed . ) I’ve just tried phoning them , but they are closed until Monday morning . I will phone them for you on Monday morning to find out 1) if they will ship to USA , if so, 2) if the ampoules would maintain their integrity without refrigeration during shipping to USA , and 3) the exact price with shipping to USA , and how long they retain their efficacy for, when stored correctly etc .If you know that Methylcobalamin works best for you, I would like to help you .

I have just phoned Arnika in Munich . Yes , they do ship to the USA , but it can take 2 weeks ! I then suggested that the Methylcobalamin could suffer by not being refrigerated. No , I was told , Methylcobalamin does not need to be refrigerated, just kept at normal room temperatures !( I’ve always understood that it should be kept refrigerated!). Cost for pack of 10 x 1mg ampoules is €29.09 plus €30.00 for shipping , no matter how many are sent .

I’m sure that you will manage to find some Methylcobalamin ampoules somewhere . Yes , those compounding chemists charges are truly crippling . I used them once when first diagnosed with P.A. , and couldn’t get treatment . , and didn’t know where to get help .

This is a study on heat degradation of methylcobalamin in ampoules. It is interesting to see that when exposed to 100 degrees c in an autoclave, over 88% of the methylcobalamin was unaltered.

I found this informative as, like yourself, I have been told that it needs to be kept refrigerated.
