Slowly giving up.
Ok so after my recent post about the NDT seeming to do nothing to help and the mass of supplements I've been taking ( seemingly at wrong doses or unnecessarily) I came to a huge decision. I've literally stopped the lot! I can't get any help from my doctor as I've tried and he's useless and now my head

What would you do if your hair was falling out at a rapid rate?
I tried shampoos and Rogaine and see no difference. I already have seen a dermatologist a few times and had blood work done and because of high level of antibodies tomorrow will see a Rheumotologist. But it seems like I will just keep loosing my hair until it is gone as half is gone and clumps fall out

Can Betaine HCI be taken at same time as pro & pre probiotics?
With being Hashi I have Betaine (Lamberts) and have an enzyme, pro & pre biotic, wholefood & essential co-factors mix (Natures Plus GI Digestive Wellness) Can they taken together at the same time. Since the instructions advise to take both with food, I wondered would they work against each other, will

Holland & Barrett mega vitamin time release
If any of you knowledgeable people have the time, could you please look through this list of what’s in H&B mega vits and tell me if there’s anything I shouldn’t be taking. I’m hypothyroid with antibodies and on levothyroxine. I take one of these vits everyday at lunchtime and take my Levo at approx

T3 lower, TSH much higher after T3/T4 time-release - take T3 only, or T3 with levo?
Hi all, I'm from the U.S. but find info here great so wonder if you could advise what I should do next. Main question is, should I take T3 (5 mcg.) only to flush out RT3? Or take the T3 in addition to my old T4 levothyroxine, and if so, 75 mcg. of the T4 or just take 37.5 mcg (1/2 tab)? This was first

Betaine HCL+Pepsin
Although my wife still has gastric issues and with converting T4 to T3, and is on both Levo & Lio, I thought I would post something positive on Betaine. Since she has been taking it from some two years ago, 2 per day only, with lunch & dinner, she has not suffered at all from acid reflux, for which she

Low stomach acid
Hello all. As so many of us I have low stomach acid and want to do something about it. I would like to know what your experiences are with trying to solve the problem, e.g. Taking Betaine HCL or Apple Cider Vinegar. Help with NDT / T3 dosing please, and ferritin!
Hi there, I'm 49, and was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s around 2014/15. I took thyroxine 50mcg for about a year, which didn’t help much, then increased to 75mcg thyroxine plus 10 - 20 mcg T3 per day (seems I don’t convert too well) I was actually feeling pretty ok on this dose, though not quite my old self

Leflunomide... experiences?
I've been on methotrexate for 5 weeks now...losing too much hair. Rheumy suggesting I switch to leflunomide. I read the side effects online. It seems more daunting than the mtx. Please if any of you have experiences you can share with me, good or bad, are welcome. I need to figure out if I should bear

Doctor prescribed me iodine, but far less than recommended
I just had a chat with the rogue doctor, they suspect mitochondrial issues. In the mean time while I get my amino acids tested I am advised to take iodine, but less than I did before (150-350 mcg), they recommended as little as 50 mcg at first for long term to see what happens. I am also getting tested

Hair Loss Continues
I'm down to 4.5mg prednisone per day and my hair is still falling out! :( Has anyone had any luck with Rogaine? I'm afraid to try it as my hair loss doesn't seem to match up with the pictures on the box. Not only do I have thinning on top of the scalp but also the back of my head...pretty much allover

Betaken and Pepsin
I have read an article advising Hashimotos patients to take Betaine and Pepsin with protein meals. The writer said she regained a lot of energy because most Hashimotos patients have low stomach acid and taking these helped with digestion thereby saving energy. what do you think?

B12 and C677T gene mutation
Hi, I have the above gene mutation which is suppose to mean I need more B12 but tried to take it in pill form and felt awful, found out I have very low stomach acid probably for a long time so started taking HCL with betaine. No matter what I take in pill form it makes me feel worse, so I'm trying liquid
