In Shock!
Hi all Around a year ago I was diagnosed, via a fibroscan with a score of 20, as my gastro consultant said, borderline cirrhosis. I’ve never been happy with the lack of anything I have received from him so I pushed for a referral to Kings College. I ended up there yesterday and they did a second

Thank you everyone for your kind words. i will stay on 11mg pred for the time being. I am really struggling with the side effects of the various pain killers, blood pressure meds and water tablets; everything seems to list nausea, constipation and sleepiness as a side effect. The nausea in particular

Fibroscan results
Hi, My husband’s fibroscan came back with a KPA of 21.5 and the hepetologist has said he has significant bridging fibrosis - she actually said that he doesn’t have cirrhosis (said multiple times) and that at this stage he can still reverse it if he loses weight? What confuses me is that everywhere

Severe hepatic steatosis
HiMy CT scan says liver has smooth contour, 'severe hepatic steatosis', no focal liver lesion or biliary dilatation. I phoned the helpline and was recommended to ask for fib 4 test but my gp says they don't do that. Just had normal full bloods and liver panel taken. Waiting for the results but I fear

Pharmacist denied medication
Hesitant to post this. Opinions run strong on subject. My regular (+1yr) pharmacist called to tell me she was denying my regular pain med fill due to increased usage of thc. Shocked. She advised me to find another pharmacy that sells both THC and pain medication (doesn’t exist) and talk to my doctor.

Unknown Liver Disease or from Alcohol?
Hi About 8 weeks I had two alcohol binge sessions over the weekend on an empty stomach. (I only drink 3-4 times a year). Following this, about 4 days after, I started developing hot and cold flushes, sweating, hives and pruritus - especially on my stomach, poor wound healing. Pale colored stools.

Most know my Story about my wife, how she went from a Fatty liver diagnosis in Oct of 2020 to dead from Renal Failure in Jan of 2023. One thing, that is still being argued. And drives me nuts since the Biopsies showed NASH F1. She did have a compression of her IVC and Portal. Which cleared on its

Evening all, I’m just looking for some advice or guidance really on my recent blood test results following up on the pain I’ve had in my right hand side upper abdomen. As the title suggests, my GGT has come back very high at 159 (think the average for a woman is under 30) and ALT is also above the
