FIB-4 Score and Cirrhosis due to Alcohol
I've been reading posts that some body can have perfect blood tests (ALT,AST,GGT,ALP,Bilurubin, Platelets etc.) and still have underlying ALcohol Related Cirrhosis. I just want to know the FIB- 4score of the fellow members here who are suffering from Cirrhosis. is it showing normal or does it show some

Worried I’m feeling too good, 1 year in 3 months since hospital month visit for decomposed stage 4 cirrhosis, has took me this long to get back to normal, now compensated no symptoms anymore, apart from struggling to put weight back on but generally I feel ok apart from the mental aspect that’s my main

Flaxseed oil, Omega-3's and lignans - good or bad with PCa?
So I'm a little mixed on flaxseed oil given the research I've done and my Care Oncology Advisor's advice to switch from cod liver oil (too much vitamin A) to flaxseed oil. I do grind my own to put in my yoghurt/oats/etc. which includes the lignans, but flaxseed oil does not. This article keeps me on

Very itchy shins
Hi Just wondered how often this occurs to people with liver issues? I sometimes itch until my shins bleed and they get covered in what looks like scratches and red blotches . I also get the same in hotspots on my body and again looks like red blood scratches. It could well be eczema Going back 3yrs

New test for Livers?
Hi all, a friend of mine seems to think he has read that there is a new test out that can give you an idea if your liver will require a transplant in the future. Obviously this is for damaged livers and will depend on you following rules/best life style etc. Personally I've not read anything but just

Post transplant and alcohol
I'm one year post transplant and haven't touched any alcohol since the operation. I had non alcoholic fatty liver disease.I've now been informed that non alcoholic drinks contain ethanol which is also not good for you when taking adeport. Anyone any views about this ? Should I even leave non alcoholic

Side effects of Ursofalk
I’ve been recently diagnosed with PBC after positive AMA and liver biopsy. My LFT’s are all in normal range except slightly elevated GGT. I started on 500mg of Ursofalk taken at night. After a week I started experiencing severe pain on my right hand side. I called my gastroenterologist and he told me

High GGT and ALT, just had an ultrasound.
Hi, I’ve just had an ultrasound and the sonographer said that the liver, gallbladder all looks fine there is minimal fat but nothing to worry about, which is great news. My last blood test two weeks ago was GGT 383 and ALT 148 (if I can remember correctly). What else could be causing these high levels

More spider veins appearing
I had elevated enzymes 2 years ago and everything on my scans came back healthy. My bloods went back to normal and I’ve gotten in the best shape of my life. But recently I’ve noticed more spider veins appearing on my chest and torso. I have a blood test tomorrow, but I’m just down in the dumps while

Gilbert’s Syndrome!
Well after months of worry I’ve had confirmation that I carry the Gilbert’s syndrome gene. My US and MRCP was clear of any cirrhosis. They do want me to still have a fibroscan as some of my other levels were elevated, but at least I can hopefully put cirrhosis to bed now. Feel like I’ve been given a

Subchorionic Hematoma
So I found out since my earlier post, that my bleeding is a subchorionic hematoma. So now I'm on as much bed rest as possible. How long do these things normally last? The bleeding has gone down so just a small spot light brown when I wipe. Doc said work is screwed as I shouldn't go in to the office
