Hi there it’s a simple answer but not really easy to do, stop drinking and start exercising with a good diet. So now I’ve stated the obvious it’s down to you to do the hard bit, can I say it’s worth it. I now have so much fun with my grandchildren who I didn’t have when I had to make the decision, I now have three grandchildren with my son and daughter and two grandchildren with my foster daughter who keeps saying she doesn’t want to be a grown up and come home to the wife and I 🤣😂. But really she is doing a fantastic job 👍. So don’t forget it’s not just your daughter you need to live for it’s your grandchildren. Good luck on your journey and do as the doctors tell you and I can tell you from experience it’s great.
Stay safe All

I can vouch for the good diet , used to live on nothing but processed crap whilst thinking where am I going for a next pint , now eat so healthily gone from a basket case a few weeks ago to all fresh food , meats , fish , fruit , veg , mineral water , fresh juices , but have developed a sweet tooth , however under control , you won't look back 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
How did you lose your weight?
I ask because I am massively overweight, but losing weight slowly and steadily with calorie deficit. I also have a very bad thyroid disorder which means losing weight will be a battle.
However, despite a type 2 diagnosis a couple of months ago, which I have reversed, I have eaten to help my liver, not to reduce blood sugar or manage diabetes.
Quick and fast weightloss sometimes isn't always that healthy.
But non-the-less, congratulations on such a massive loss, I can only hope I manage to get that far. If you are early stage cirrhosis it is possible to reverse but also possible to live a good long life with it as is, as long as you support your liver with good food, little to no alcohol and keeping active.
I am sure others will be along with more useful information as well
hi folks thanks for the great advice and hope you are all well , I had non alcoholic fatty liver which I have now reversed, i have never really had a problem with alcohol and only drank on occasion, I lost my weight by joining slimming world in January 2022 and I am sitting at 9 stone 13 lost in my last weigh in on Saturday. My diet is eggs with spinach a salad at lunch with chicken yoghurt and fruit. I think when you hear the word chrosis it effects mental health but it’s great to hear that people are living normal healthy life’s.
Hi Anxiousnoy18, well done for taking all the right steps. Your liver is an amazing organ and it can repair itself when it’s not under assault from alcohol, foods that make it fatty or autoimmune disorders. As you had a fatty liver, keeping the weight off by eating healthily should give your liver a chance to recover. Keep up the good work and enjoy your little one - they grow up too fast, you don’t want to waste these early years with worry when you’re doing all the right things.
thank you means alot , it was something I didn’t expect as I am active and would like to think I’m sensible around social situations. This forum has gave me comfort that life can go on with making sensible choices
I think the key to this is continuing your healthy eating and exercise regime as well as keeping away from alcohol . Congratulations on your weight loss . As long as you continue to lead a healthy lifestyle you will have a long and healthy life . I think thinking too much into this can and will consume your thinking , everyone is different, live your live , listen to the doctors and don’t let it consume your thoughts life is for living ,as someone else said enjoy your child , take the support from your doctors and family and don’t worry . Good luck .
P.s don’t read into every thread on here either it’s a good support system but all individuals are at different stages , if you feel it will effect you reading don’t do it just try live your life as best you can 😀
thank you for your kind words best of luck for the future everyone and keep well 😀x
