I have been getting high ggt levels for maybe 3 years now. Currently 132 at the highest was 160. I am guilty of having a bottle of wine spaced from friday through sunday so about a glass an evening over a weekend but am a non drinker the rest of the time. I have had positive gastro parietal cells come back on a prior blood test also. Has anyone got any ideas what causes the two together?

High liver GGT
Positive gastro parietal cells occur in Pernicious Anaemia [A positive result means these antibodies are detected, indicating your immune system is targeting your own parietal cells. This can be associated with conditions such as pernicious anemia or autoimmune gastritis]. I see you have various posts on other forums about this condition.
GGT is the most sensitive of all the liver inflammation enzymes so it might be raised as 'something' is affecting your liver, a raised GGT doesn't tell you what this is just that the liver isn't happy about something - might be alcohol related, might be fatty liver or any number of other things. More tests likely to be required though your figure isn't massively high.

My highest was 1,600, but that was when I was drinking 2 bottles of wine a day and not eating. After 9 months of not drinking alcohol it went back to normal. It's over 20 months since I've consumed alcohol.
