Hi All. My partner has been diagnosed with cirrhosis. he has a few mild symptoms, bloated stomach, spider veins, erectile dysfuction, loss of appetite. He has now developed a yellow tongue with fissures. Has anyone else had this? Is it related to cirrhosis as I cant find anything about it online

Pharmacist denied medication
Hesitant to post this. Opinions run strong on subject. My regular (+1yr) pharmacist called to tell me she was denying my regular pain med fill due to increased usage of thc. Shocked. She advised me to find another pharmacy that sells both THC and pain medication (doesn’t exist) and talk to my doctor.

Most know my Story about my wife, how she went from a Fatty liver diagnosis in Oct of 2020 to dead from Renal Failure in Jan of 2023. One thing, that is still being argued. And drives me nuts since the Biopsies showed NASH F1. She did have a compression of her IVC and Portal. Which cleared on its

Biotin
Hi please can you tell me how much biotin would affect blood test results. I am waiting for a doctors appointment , they have told me it will be between 2 and 4 weeks, but could be sooner. I am currently taking B complex supplement which contains biotin. I know the guideline is don't take for 7 days.

INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITY - Research (UK)
One of the NIHR liver partnership research teams in the UK is working on a study to encourage patients with a diagnosis of liver disease to regularly attend for cancer screening. There are many things that make this difficult for people, particularly if they are homeless or vulnerable. The researchers

I had elevated Alkaline Phosphate of 146, ALT (SOGT) of 45 and a positive ANA with a titer of 1:320 so my primary doctor sent me to a gastroenterologist. He thought I just had fatty liver but did more bloodwork and scheduled me for an ultrasound, He called when the labs came back and said he wanted tod

Serum gamma-glutamyl transferase level
I had a blood test conducted by my GP surgery. One of the test, not my normal profile, was this: Serum gamma-glutamyl transferase level (XaES3) 118 iu/L [reference range 0 - 59] I do understand that it's a liver test, and my other LFT's were normal. Any incite to the meaning of this test in respect

liver ast/alt
Good day, i recently got Bloodwork done. My billirubine was raised 71u/mol and AST 81. My ALT was 25, GGT normal and ALP also. I was a binge drinker for 15 years. Never drank daily. My fear is cirrhosis, with the ast alt ratio. Have had 2 ultrasounds that were complete normal and 1 MRI with out contrast

A really long post, I’m sorry.
Hello, this might turn into a ramble, so apologies in advance. My husband was diagnosed with F3/F4 Bridging fibrosis about 6 weeks ago. It’s been a very emotional and scary few weeks made worse by lots of googling! I found this forum this week, and since reading, feel a lot more positive going forward

Hi Taar
A couple of years ago when I was particularly unwell, my 1st paracentesis was scary, a bit unknown. The pain reducing injection was was a sharp sting, but nothing worse. Insertion of the the drain tube felt "uncomfortable" but nothing worse. During the drain over several hours they also replenished

Do natural supplements work to reduce high cholesterol?
While strictly not a PMR issue I know there are a few whose cholesterol has risen markedly since being diagnosed. I am one of them. I have always had high-ish cholesterol but my last fasting blood test showed everything else perfectly normal but my cholesterol was up. I haven't seen the results

Some advice re draining fluid?
11m post transplant. Had a clinic at QE today. Not feeling too good, feeling tired, bloated etc. Have gained about 8-10kg since March. They (bless 'em) fitted me in for an ultrasound, and found "pockets of free fluid." Is this the same as ascites? Can you get ascites after transplant...? Didn't

Advice on medication
Over the last couple of weeks I have had pains in my stomach and for longer than that regular bladder problems. Always feeling I need to go to the toilet. I am on 3.5 mg of prednisolone and am wondering if it has anything to do with the other pills I am taking each day. 1 -20 mg omeprazole, 1 - 1000
