Negative then positive then Negative AMA???
I am so confused. I'm not sure if I should even be here. 4 months ago I tested negative for AMA. 2 weeks ago I came back positive. I asked to redo the test and tonight my test results came back negative. Obviously haven't spoke to my Hepatologist yet. I was diagnosed solely based on a positive AMA test

Thanks for allowing me to join your group. I have a few questions for members. First of all a short back story. I'm 43, 6 months ago I was diagnosed with Stage 3 fatty liver with NASH. I went on a clean diet lost 50 pounds and reversed my condition. The same week I was told I reversed, I was diagnosed

Heptlar for PBC
Hi, Has anyone heard or taken Heptlar manufactured by Abbot for PBC or AIH? Heptral 400mg Tablet is a medicine used for the treatment of liver disease associated with reduced bile formation (intrahepatic cholestasis). It protects the liver cells from toxins and helps the liver to perform its normal functions

Nutrient absorption- coffee, grains and alcohol
I have from time to time tried various food combinations - but a few months back tried cutting out coffee grains and alcohol at the same time and felt much better after a week and dropped some weight. I have over the past week picked this up again and with similar immediate results. It has left me

Baffled
I have pulled back from level 4 cirrhosis with ascites and jaundice as well as two bad bleeds and was doing well. I then developed a pregnant stomach again ( I'm 60) drumlike, tight, uncomfortable so I assumed ascites and resumed spironolactone. No effect. Had a US scan on Monday- no fluid found! Has

PBC diagnosis? AMA 125,1
Hi, I am 55 year old. In 2008 I had a self resolved Hep C, and the virus has never been present since, I had two tests in 2008 and one now, no virus, this takes chronic Hep C off the table. I have my blood tests yearly (except 2019, 2020), everything was normal. In November 2021 my ALT and AST were

Cirrhotic pbc
Hi all, My mother was diagnosed 30 years ago with Autoimmune Hepatits. She was 22 years on immunosuppressive treatment which she decided to discontinue after a talk with her doctor. Two years ago her liver enzymes were abnormal especially ALP and GGT (272, 332) weak ASMA positive and mildly abnormal

Refaxamin
Does anyone know how long it is safe to take refaxamin for, I have been taking it for two years now, I haven’t had any HE in that time, I was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis 2 years ago and went into a coma and was put forward for a transplant, but since then my liver has recommpensated

Refaxamin
I have liver cirrhosis and was considered twice for a transplant, I haven’t had any alcohol for 2 years now, but I am taking refaxamin and lactalose to stop HE which I haven’t had for a year and a half. Do you know if I have to continue with the refaxamin for the rest of my life.

A bit of good news
Morning. We'll after a few weeks of coming to terms with Stage 4 Fibrosis (compensated) at last a bit of good news as far as my T2 Diabetes is concerned. I have lost a total of 32 lbs in weight and my reading is now 39!! It was 114 when I was initially diagnosed 2 years ago. I am due another FibroScan

I wanted to share my recent scan results to spur on anyone with severe fibrosis/early cirrhosis. From a diagnosis of NAFLD F3-4 in November 2020 following an MRi showing bridging fibrosis and fibroscan score of 11.6 kpa, my fibroscan score yesterday was 5.6kpa F0-F1. After my first ultrasound scan

Jaundice
Just wondering if jaundice can happen slowly over time, as it builds up. Often hear stories of folks suddenly waking up yellow with an acute attack, but my husband is waiting transplant and although his bilirubin remains relatively stable, it is obviously persistently out of range. He had a bout of jaundice

Liver Fibrosis F3
Hi new on here. Had a positive chat to the British Liver Trust for my F3 Fibrosis. I was told they caught it before it turned to Cirrhosis and that it can be reversed with diet as mine is probably linked to being overweight and Fatty Liver. I have been diagnosed with GAVE (aka Watermelon Stomach)
