Follow up to back strain with a chest muscle strain. It never ends.
Hi again folks. You may remember I posted about straining a back muscle and feeling unwell. This happened 16 days ago and last Sunday I was hitching myself up the bed (using arms, not back muscles)and heard something pop in the middle of my chest. Another searing pain and still feeling poorly, not eating

My Mom needs heart surgery & I'm a terrified, 47 yr old baby
I feel so selfish. My MOM is the one who needs her aortic valve replaced, not me. But here I am, terrified of the upcoming surgery. Terrified of how terrified I'll be. Why can't I reframe my thinking? Why can't I look at this as this will save her?! Quick background: I'm 47, female, never married, no

Another iron IV/hydro post - been in hospital last night
Hey all,I had iron infusion on Monday. During it, I had anaphylactic shock (tight chest, couldn't breathe) and was injected with 100 mg hydrocortisone (thanks to this, they were able to finish the IV). I woke up on Tuesday morning feeling incredibly warm and with a lot of energy. My vision got sharper

Sue perhaps you can help me, I have been successfully relying on diet for years but RLS seems to be catching up. I am in Australia. Perhaps its simply a matter of getting older (currently 79) but a couple of other things might be a problem. I tore a hamstring muscle or tendon that apparently caused

MCAS, but possible Masto?
Hello, I'm almost 39 and have a diagnosis of MCAS through Dr Claire Taylor in Perth. I've been treated for MCAS for just over a year, but have been symptomatic in one way or another all of my life. I take fexofenadine, montelukast, famotidine and quercetin at present for stabilisation. I have what

Panic Attack
I went to a dermatologist last week to have a cyst removed from my shoulder, and as usual Roman, my husband, came with me. The nurse took us back to the exam room and told us that Roman would not be able to stay with me during the procedure. She then went on about aftercare of which I heard nothing.

Cavernous Tumor & Rising PSA
My husband had triple therapy with docetaxel (finished chemo in January), darolutimide, and Firmagon/Lupron. Recently he developed what seemed like a sinus infection but was really a tumor in his sinus cavity and behind his eye socket wrapped around his carotid arteries on the plate of his skull (

, Xofigo. This is my preferred treatment option at the moment. The disease has only spread to my bones so far and this treatment works in damaging tumor cells in the bones. Also this treatment has the least side effects. I would like to continue working while having this treatment. 3.

Another miracle cure :)
Any opinions on sodium chloro acetate. I am anxious to try an herbicide on my cancer :) but seriously if you google a bit there is some sense to the explanations as to how it might help to reduce cancer. Anyone try this

How many kidney disease patients are limiting their diets to plant based (vegetarian)? I did, and my GFR is almost normal.
Kidneys are still damaged but swtching to vegetarian reduces load through diet. Rduce sodium, calories, Potassium, Phosphourus to limits enforced through diet will help damged kidneys to be able to function well enough to maintain normal GFR etc.

Struggling
My partner had a fall 8 weeks ago whilst on holiday in Bulgaria. He had a fractured occipital bone and 3 small bleeds on the brain. He spent 12 days in hospital and a further week in the hotel before he was fit to fly. Within three days of being home he was walking quite well, only occasionally using

A new approach for treatment of subthreshold bipolar disorders: Targeted high dose levothyroxine+repetitive TMS for mitochondrial treatment
A very interesting paper. Difficult to grab any individual bits for discussion or introduction. The whole paper isn't very long. Even if bipolar disorders are not themselves of much direct interest, it might be worth a quick read because it discusses the control group as well and their ability to tolerate

b12 purchase
Hi I was treated by GP for low B12 for a year but once my levels were midway on “normal range” the injections were discontinued and I struggle to find ways to boost my intake orally. I have just purchased Hydroxocobalamin online but am unsure if the dosage is similar to that I was previously prescribed

Valproate: new safety and educational materials to support regulatory measures in men and women under 55 years of age
I don't think there is any reason to expect many members to be taking any form of Valproate, but this is such an important issue, with such significant consequences, I've decided to post it anyway. Even if you are not taking it, someone you know might be. [i]
