Radium 223 offered
What can we expect, as I have read that
Radium
223
, does not take PSA down.If this treatment 'kills the Cancer cells' then I don't understand why PSA dosn't fall ? Could be offered more chemo, after
Radium
. So is
Radium
223
worth having ?

We thought the PSA count wasn’t of much relevance when someone is on
radium
223
as the Pca on the bones releases PSA when it’s being attacked by the radium - is this incorrect and should we be worried? Thanks All

Olaparib and Radium 223 synergy ?
I seem to recall seeing that there was a trial on seeing if there was synergy to taking Olaparib and
Radium
223
. But can not find it. Anyone have any knowledge of this? I'm BRCA2 mutated and currently taking Olaparib, and considering

At the crossroads (again)
So, my SOC choices are cabazataxel or
radium
223
. Other options are trial, which are a crapshoot or go overseas for Actinium. BTW, diagnosed less than 2 years ago with denovo high volume metastatic, Gleason 4 & 5, PSA 28.2. Any thoughts?

Steroids and Radium 223
Hi Hopefully my husband will start
Radium
223
in 4-6 weeks. He recently stopped abiraterone after 5 months as his PSA was doubling every month. While he was on abiraterone he was taking 2mgs of dexamethasone, although 1mg for the last month.

Chemo Update March 27, 2024
I have been CRPC since 2022 and have tried abiraterone and
Radium
223
(Xofigo). I just completed 7 rounds of docetaxel again and PSA went from 105 to 3.1 after 4 rounds then started doubling. Now I will be switching to cabazitaxel for another 6 to 10 rounds. Has anyone switched and had any luck?

Radium-223 and [177Lu]Lu-PSMA
Has anyone here from Canada had experience with either of the two PSMA treatments. I was all excited about this until I looked into it a bit more and the results seem to be very mixed not to mention the cost of upwards of $27K per treatment (5 or 6 treatments seems to be typical). I have completed 8

4th line palliative systemic options?
He was on Xtandi for 15 months, then Chemo and last treatment was
Radium
223
. He handled side effects well. Any suggestions on what should be next with the 3 options offered? We are in Kawartha Lakes, north of Toronto, Ontario

My husband has passed.
I believe that
Radium
223
precipitated his death. I have written before here on his experiences. It took everything from him and left him bed bound and unable to do anything. The same happened to a friend he made while doing the same treatment. We were together for 47 years.

Dad with Stage 4 PCa - Need some words of wisdom...again please!
If he does qualify for
Radium
223
, is this a good treatment? I'm not naive as to the severity of his disease, but I always try and look for the light at the end of the tunnel....but if
Radium
223
does not help, are there many other options?

Chemotherapy or Pluvicto
I just completed
Radium
223
treatment. PSA has been doubling since I failed Zytiga. Last scans show progression. I am offered chemo or a trial with Pluvicto. The cancer is throughout my bones. What should I do. I have had chemo at the beginning of this journey and it worked then.

Enzalutamide any advice/tips for dealing with side effects
Abiraterone eventually stopped working and I was able to join
Radium
223
trial. Completed 5 of 6 cycles of
Radium
223
, then elected to stop since scans showed mets still progressing and bone pains was brutal (PSA has continued to rise and is now 113 as of August '23).

Order of treatment?
Having waited for 6 weeks to have a biopsy and get the results for neuroendocrine PC (he didn’t have it) his oncologist has said he can either have another chemo (Cabazitaxel or Carboplatin) or
