Sister with Breast cancer
It has already been decided she will have to have a mastectomy because she has had
radiotherapy
once on that breast already. Any reassurance or help would be most appreciated as we all thought she had beaten the cancer the first time around.

SpaceOAR Hydrogel for use during radiotherapy of prostate
Suggest anybody having
radiotherapy
to prostate or prostate bed checks that it is being used. "SpaceOAR Hydrogel is an absorbable hydrogel that temporarily creates space between the prostate and the rectum, reducing the dose delivered to rectum during prostate radiation therapy.

Hi all, I'm 72, just finished prostate cancer hormone treatment and 20 radio therapy sessions. Put on some weight around my middle (was 12 1/2 stone, now 13 5) so couch to 5k seemed the way to go. On day 1 had to walk the 3rd run but day 2 & 3 completed as instructed but recovery very slow. Feel I should

Update
After my 3rd Cyberknife radiation treatment on 3/27 sensations of wanting to urinate frequently and soreness in the rectum and between my legs progressively got worse. 5th and final treatment was on 3/31. Sensations continued. Last night 4/3 discomfort improved and today I was able to have a decent orgasm

Post radiation issues
Happy to say my last Cyberknife radiation treatment was completed, Tuesday, Marc 31 2020. After the third treatment I did start having issues with the urgency to urinate often. To be expected I understand. Never had these symptoms pre treatment. RaOc said they will probably stop eventually because I

Statin and COX2 inhibitor for MCRPC?
We are about to have another PSMA to look for any bone target that might be worth some
radiotherapy
, just incase it is one or two sites that have progressed. Allan is very fit and runs 7km most days.

Radiotherapy treatment for VT ( Mail on Sunday article)
I have just read an article in the Mail, via Google, about new
radiotherapy
treatment in Newcastle for ventricular problems. My computer skills are too poor to attempt to copy this. Please could someone help as it's an interesting development. Many thanks.

Recent 2020 research report, and one in 2017 showing Xofigo may have a much higher risk of serious side effects on bone marrow than thought!
Unfortunately, some of us here have been suspecting this, due to personal experience: "Twenty-three patients received Xofigo at UF Health, and one was lost to follow-up. Sixteen patients (73%) completed the full course (six doses) of Xofigo, while six did not. Ten patients (45%) developed pancytopenia

Issues with Radiation Therapy and the location of the heart
Has anyone had issues with Radiation Therapy and the location of their heart? I went for my consult and they said that I have to have my expanders reduced more than the 180cc that I had removed before my consultation. Wondering if my "assigned" radiation oncologist really knows what they are doing, since

Radiotherapy? Did you know of the ONGOING effects?
It's either inflammation or the results of
radiotherapy
. Me : But I had the
radiotherapy
well over 30 years ago . Him : Yes, but the effects are on - going. Me : Flabbergasted & speechless! My GP says that they were unaware of the long term effects 30 years ago.

Scores went up a little over 100 points when off ibrance for 2 weeks
Hi guys I went off ibrance for almost 3 weeks because of the need for radiation treatment to my hip and femur. I was to the point that I could not walk without assistance and was in constant pain. Now I just got my scores back (it was drawn before radiation and about 2 weeks after stopping ibrance )
