Ongoing fatigue following thyroidectomy due to cancer
In 2019 I had a full thyroidectomy and RAI treatment due to cancer. Since then I have had problems with fatigue, which I understand is not unusual after this type of treatment. I was given125mcg Levothyroxine initially but this caused near hyperthyroidism, I am at present on 100mcg but find I am still

help managing palpitations
I have had to stop taking Carbimazole because I am going to have radio active iodine in 7 days. I have been told to ‘manage’ my palpitations by taking propranolol. I had previously stopped taking it because my thyroid levels were down to normal (on Carbimazole) and I had no heart symptoms. But since

Iron Levels
I am on a reduction program for pramipexole, and it’s going really well. I’m taking gentle iron every other night. I also have some codeine tablets and I take one at bedtime. However I had surgery about eight weeks ago. I had my second full iron panel blood test about four weeks ago. My ferritin levels

To take or not to take...iodine?
I know this is a controversial subject, but would like to know if anyone with Hashimoto´s has taken iodine and noticed any benefits? The doctor who prescribed Erfa for me also prescribed Lugol´s iodine solution (12%). I have chosen not to take it as I have read so many times that it should be avoided

My PMR and GCA story so far...
I've had GCA twice so far, and I think I'm going down with it again at present. I've had PMR since October 2009, when I began to get a constant and increasingly painful backache after having a very bad case of the flu. The backache soon spread to my shoulders and by the end of 2009, I had to use a

My TSI is 1.20 (0.00 - 2.00) Does it mean that I ddi not have Graves and RAI is not right treatment for me? Thank you very much for your opinions.

Gastrografin - Yes or No?
I am due a CT Colonography and have been given Gastrografin to take prior to this. On the bottle it says "If you have an allergy to iodine do not take Gastrografin". I have Hashimotos and have been taking 100mcg Levothyroxine for many years. Should I be taking this? Has anyone had experience of

Good site for vegan nutrition info and some supplements I take
https://veganhealth.org/daily-needs/ For a good B12 source would recommend the 3 natural form supplement here : https://www.sunday.de/en/vitamin-b12/. 500mcg per day is a good safe dosage. You cannot overdose on B12 and although 500mcg seems like a lot, only an estimated 6-7mcg are absorbed of this

Toxic poppy seeds are sending people to hospital in Australia. A reminder that dietary supplements are considered as foods, not drugs
If you are using supplements to hopefully manage your CLL, here is an example of why what's natural can make you very ill and why you need to ensure that you obtain your supplements from a reputable source. Along with their use in foods and drinks, poppy seeds are the source of medically important chemicals

Ashwaganda?
I just saw someone posting on another site that Ashwaganda has really helped their RLS. Does anyone have any thoughts on this please? I currently take Tramadol but only when desperate as I don't really want to be dependent on any drug if I can avoid it. However I have had to appreciate that I am taking
