Pain relief

Has anyone found any pain relief to be effective? I’ve tried so, so many and there’s not much left for me to try. I have a brilliant GP who is always happy to listen so I thought if anyone had found anything effective, then I could always suggest it. Currently prescribed naproxen and diclofenic suppositories. However, the problem is that you can’t take the two together so if I think a flare up might be coming (most days currently) then I can’t take the naproxen to take the other. But you can also only use the diclofenic for 3 days. Tried everything before such as codeine, tramadol, pregablin to name just a few. Plus others!

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi, don't know if this will be of any use, but if it's nerve pain then the standard pain relief isn't much use.

I was given gabapentin for the rectal pain. Also pregabalin pre and post op.

Some people get on with it, others don't. Maybe worth talking to your GP if you think it's nerve related.

Thank you so much for replying, I’ve tried them both previously but they didn’t help 😞

I really feel for you as in a similar position. Even morphine didn't help. The only thing that works is a plug in heat pad. They are so good that I have types. One that was recommended on here, which is a wearable one.I've started cbd oil and flaxseed oils to try and help with the inflammation. Rasberry leaf tea helps a bit too.

I hope you find some relief soon xx

Hi, have you asked your gp or gynaecologist for a referral to a pain management specialist with endometriosis it is a right to see a pain management specialist. The gp only has a limited amount of drugs they can prescribe but a pain management specialist can prescribe so much more and in higher doses if needed and in different types like patches for constant release. It is worth asking, I went private because the wait was too long via the nhs but everyone with endometriosis has the right to be referred to a pain management specialist so I would ask your gp if you haven’t already.

Hi! I asked about the pain management but they got so caught up in discussing the medication, I’m not sure it got sorted! I’ll ask again though, I have another appointment soon. They prescribed some more called Flurbiprofen at quite a high dose, so will give it a go. Only trouble is, the local pharmacy have struggled to get hold of it so hoping they’ll have it in tomorrow. X

Thank you, I’ll have a look for it x

I use 3 different ones. I got the pad from Argos first, then bought the belts. They are all really good and help loads. I would highly recommend all 3. I really hope the pain calms down soon xx
