As someone who uses levothyroxine same dose everyday and who doesn’t have a strong iodine source in the diet except some eggs (no bread, no seewead etc) ;
What are the chances of getting symptoms of overmedication (for me, the most prominent is too quick passage of food through gi tract) the next day of using quite some iodised salt?
To be more clear as to symptoms; can’t get out of the loo the next day, it’s been maybe 10 times, you get the point.
Anyone who has had a similar experience or even become sure of a cause and effect relationship?
Thanks for reading

You shouldn't need extra iodine unless you have been tested and found to be low in it.
Could your symptoms be due to the brand of levo you are taking? Many of us find that we react to some brands and not to others, so it's worth trying a different one.
Have you heard of low stomach acid? If your stomach acid is too low (alkali) you can get symptoms which may seem to be from high stomach acid. Heartburn can be caused by both acid and alkali. Most doctors don't understand this and can continue to prescribe PPIs which make it worse.
You say you don't have a strong source of Iodine in your diet... but are you aware the levothyroxine(T4) IS comprised of " 4 atoms of Iodine" ? ........T3 is "3 atoms of iodine" when the body converts T4 to T3 ,it does this by removing one of those atoms of iodine.. which is then recycled within the body.
The thyroid uses Iodine to make T4 and T3 ..... since you are taking Levothyroxine , your thyroid (if it is still there / working ) is now not making so much T4 and T3 by itself ... so logically you now need less Iodine than if your thyroid was still making your T4 for you.
Why do you think you need extra Iodine ?.. it's a tricky / risky thing to mess with anyway , as too much, or too little, can cause the thyroid to malfunction ... and it's even more risky once the thyroid is already malfunctioning .
It was a potential mistake that crossed my mind. I didn’t think i needed extra iodine; that was the salt that was available at home (that was iodised).
So you say it’s a known approach that hypothyroid patients need to steer clear from strong iodine sources.
No seaweed for me but Tinned Tuna for lunch at least 4 days per week also prawns and oily fish too. it's what I have eaten all my life so plenty of iodine.
