I was diagnosed last year and had my excision surgery in November. After making the most of the fact I had the surgery, my husband and I started trying for a baby and can happily announce we are now 7 weeks pregnant. However, I have been suffering excruciating bouts of cramps every couple of hours or less for the last 2.5 weeks. I have been referred to the Early Pregnancy Clinic and I had a scan that showed the baby was in the right place and was healthy, but they basically said they can’t do anything further for the pain. One dr has prescribed codeine, but was very reluctant to do so and told me to be super cautious to take it. I am at a bit of a loss. I had a really bad day yesterday and sat crying in the disabled toilet at work for about half an hour. It’s a new job and I have had to tell them about the pregnancy as I think the pain is really affecting my performance. I was wondering if anyone else has had this, and what they did to get themselves through it, as I don’t know if I have the strength to last another 7.5 months like this.

Pregnancy and pain
Hi Cornish05 I've just come across your post after searching for something similar. How are you getting on? Hope you're doing okay.
I have experienced severe endo pain in the early weeks of all three of my pregnancies. My gynaecologist said codeine or co-codamol were okay, as would be a TENS machine (but I didn't try that). She also said it was important to keep the bowel healthy, as she considers endo pain to be one form of chronic pelvic pain, and recommend an aloe vera supplement and probiotic.
hi. I had this and thought I was having an early miscarriage. I was also sent for scans and everything was fine. I had awful cramps that lasted a few weeks and then eased off as I got to around 12 weeks just in time for the nausea to start! Good luck in your pregnancy.
