Has anyone tried antidepressants for psp?
Our GP suggests trying something like
Prozac
, since, he says, sometimes that helps stroke victims regain motor function and we've tried everything else to no effect - and perhaps my sweetheart could use some antidepressant treatment anyway.

Medication
I used to be on
prozac
for a few year's but things still were not getting any better. I am now on VENSIR XL 225mg daily, QUETIPINE 25mg 1 twice daily and DIAZEPAM 5mg 3 a day plus TEMAZEPAM 20mg at night.....yet I feel more suicidal than ever before.

My first experience of this crippling illness started when my sister died of a brain tumor in 1994, and I found out I was expecting my first child - I was prescribed
Prozac
, a drug which I hated taking, as it made me feel nothing - I just didn't care about anything or anyone, it ruined my relationship

Rls and Prozac
My gp prescribed citalopram to supplement my
Prozac
. My rls has reached new heights. I now have it in my hands also, I cannot sit still during my worst periods of it and sleep is just impossible. I have begun to dread bedtime, so much so that I have stopped the new medication.

7 weeks into Sertraline :)
14 years on 20 mg
Prozac
and now a swap to 50 mg Sertraline as I already mentioned. Just a quick update for anyone who may find this helpful. My side effects are minimal, libido better, anxiety reduced, sleeping improved, general daily feeling of doom and being on edge has subsided somewhat!

Birthday Blues
I started on
Prozac
a few days ago and although they take a couple of weeks to have effect I've been feeling slightly high since starting on them, must be the thought of them, but this morning I found myself feeling irritable from the word go.

COETZEE REPLY SERTRALINE
Lustral is a near generic of Sertraline, which is a near generic of
Prozac
, which I consider avoidable. Check the French names too - Surelife. The latter two - not disimilar from
Prozac
- are less worrisome.

Is it too soon to draw conclusions?
It just meant that every day my positivity could drive me through the worst of the anxiety, but rather than even curing anxiety I felt that
prozac
actually maintained it and warped it into new twisted states! Is it too early to say that Sertraline seems better?!

I've been put on new meds I'm afraid of taking them.
So have anyone with OCD ever took this pill which is basically
Prozac
and did it help with your unwanted thoughts and OCD?

Newly diagnosed as hypothyroid, please tell me things get better?? :-(
I was told it was the menopause (im 43) and put on
Prozac
. This helped with the depression a bit but I still felt grim. Eventually went back to DR and said how bad I felt and was sent for a blood test.
