Hi Louise,

don't have any personal experience of Prozac, but what does it list as side-effects in the "patient information leaflet" issued from the pharmacy in the packet the tablet came in ??

kind regards, Mallet-head

dunno Louise but keep on trucking

Hello Louise

Pretty much like you at the moment....struggling a bit......especially with insomnia

Still we will keep going eh?

Ye we do love,I'm gonna try and come off these Prozac ,and try a natural remedy,st johns wort, but u can't take them with a/d,I haven't slept proper since I went on Prozac

Hi Louise,

I'm not familier with these drugs either, just wanted to say hi, wishing you well, and maybe a chat with the doctor about coming off these tablets maybe a good way to start.

Inevitably, there is always some reaction, as we move away from one thing to another, minimalising this by doing it gently, may help.

wishing you well

Dear Louise, very sorry to hear that you're suffering from ill-effects from your new medication. Why did your GP switch you to a different medication? I've taken Prozac and Citalopram in the passed, I'm now on Venlafaxine and have been for several years. SSRI* medications (all of them are in this category) are known to bring on peculiar side-effects when you start taking them, up/drop your doseage etc. For most people any side-effects wear off in two to three weeks, then you will start to appreciate the improvement in your mood and anxiety levels. Good luck Louise x

Scared the crap out of me when I saw your first reply! I know reactive depression often accompanies anxiety disorders, but clinical depression is an entirely different 'animal' in my opinion. I have a very dear friend who suffers from clinical depression and her experience is very different to mine. Have you received a professional diagnoses of your illness? It was a decade before I finally got mine.
