Is there anything I can do about my terrible hair loss?
At one time it was just a slight thinning, now it is devastating me. My hair, like most women, is so important, my fringe (to hide my lack of eyebrows) is so poor now. I have been using Nioxin 4 shampoo and conditioner for some months now after I saw a suggestion by someone on HealthUnlocked but it

Coeliac and alopecia
I have coeliac and my son has developed alopecia. He mentioned my diagnosis to his doctor who dismissed him telling him to grow his hair over his bald patch.. Surely the GP should be testing him for coeliacs?

Hello
It has taken me a few weeks to come to terms with my hair loss. I am 47 years old. My husband told me about a bald patch on the back of my head when we were out walking our dogs. The wind was blowing ( a typical summers day) I thought he was joking at first so when we got home I checked the mirror.

Hair Loss Question
Do you think thyroid problems make your hair fall out or break or both?? I have a strange fuzz about 4 cm long all over my head and I'm wondering if my hairs is growing back or is it the broken ends??

My 4yr old daughter has a bald spot.
We noticed my daughter had a small bald spot on the top of her head a few days ago the spot is quite dry and resembles a rash or skin complaint, she has found it itchy, it has doubled in size in the last few days and we are worried it may continue to grow, one of the Dr's at our Gp surgery told us not

Iodine skin test.
My local pharmacy stocks potassium iodine, is this the correct stuff for the skin patch test, and do we think it is a good guide or not? Want to check myself and both daughters. Many thanks :-)

Hair loss
Like so many on here I have been suffering from hair loss which fails to respond to thyroid treament (lucky me - not!!) I'm still trying to find solutions and thought I'd just share my latest find, Bimatoprost first used as a treatment for glaucoma was found to stimulate eyelash growth. It is now

Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia
Hello,I'm new to the site and wondered if anyone has had success with treatment with scalp injections. I am concerned that it may be somewhat of a health risk injecting cortisone into your scalp and then finding out down the road that it actually did contribute to some health problem.

Daybreak talking about hair loss in women
Just watching daybreak and in particular nadine dorries talking about her hair loss and all I can think about is how she hasn't a clue how people feel about really losing their hair. Her hair is thinning but having thyroid disease mine falls out in clumps and I have bald patches and I would be happy

I was left with severe loss of hair it went from thick to dangerously thin in that 2 months and i was at the end of my tether, i looked

I have been suffering from an itchy scalp which produces dry flaky skin and a red rash, for around five years now.
I have been prescribed betamethasone valerate and apply it several times a week. I cannot get the bottom of what causes it and my GP is not interested. can anyone help? Should i be taking the steroid long term?

Hypo?!
We've finally received a letter with a diagnosis on it!. Jess' dermatologist has diagnosed her with hypothyroidism and also alopecia areata connected with hypo! My word it takes for a dermatologist to tell us what we've been trying to tell the endos for a while yet how daft it sounds I have more faith

Supplements
I have recently been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and have heard that sea kelp is good for your thyroid function. Is this true and can you take it if you are on thyroxine medication
