DHT blood test and female pattern hair loss
Hi, can anyone advise regarding female pattern hair loss. I had a dihydrotesterone test range .21 to 1.03 result normal .31. The dermotologist thinks i have female pattern hair loss. But i think it looks more like male hair loss so had the above test. Does anyone ever have a postive blood test result

Vitex and Myo inositol
Hi I have SLE over the past 9 years. I have PCOD and hormonal imbalance. I am trying to conceive for the past 3 years. But all the treatments failed. I tried IUI also. Now I am planning to take vitex and Myo Inositol supplements to cure hormonal imbalance. Is it good or bad to try them with lupus?

Interference of anti-streptavidin antibodies in immunoassays: a very rare phenomenon or a more common finding?
The issue with biotin interfering with blood tests has been much discussed. Now a paper which suggests that interference by anti-streptavidin antibodies is more common than thought. Unfortunately, whereas with biotin we can do something (stop taking biotin for a few days before a test), with these

Too soon to be tested?
I have an endo appointment on Tuesday to review meds. I’ve just checked my diary and discovered that the next bloods will be drawn just over 4 weeks since my T3 dose was doubled and my T4 increased from 50 to 75mcg. I thought it was longer. I’ve asked questions recently about this describing feeling

Very light almost non existent periods...
I’m wondering if I may be over replaced with thyroxine, I’ve been having a few symptoms going on for a while now, the most distressing of all being diffuse hair loss. I’m also experiencing oilier skin and very very light almost non existent periods to the point where I don’t really even need to use sanitary

Biotin
Hi Everyone I eat a smoothie every morning and I add 2 tablespoons of a protein powder that has biotin in the ingredients. Can biotin in such a small amount over extended time cause thyroid results to be incorrect?

Flagged abnormal
Just wanted to share that my Gp just flagged a tsh of 3.14 as abnormal on my patient record - or the lab did, I’m not sure. Either way this is encouraging! Very grateful as I feel like death! Also that the BTF have an article coming out about biotin interference; this is significant as it could filter

Hair loss product.
Hi everyone......I've seen a few posts on hair loss and the distress it causes, and thought I'd start a new post, rather than reply on existing ones. Hopefully anyone affected by hair loss will see this. Has anyone tried Florisene? It's rather amazing. My sister alerted me to it some years ago, when

NDT+T3 or NDT+LEVO ?
I have a dilemma, today I received the labs for my 3,5 grains Thiroyd-Thai.ndt. I am on ndt for about 3 months, initially I was on 125mcg levo+12,5T3 but not doing very well. The values are not very good, ft4 is low 11,90 (11,97-21) and ft3 is 5,64 (3,1-6,8). I split the ndt in two doses. If I raise

Low T3 syndrome in thyroid therapy: THREE studies
Another interesting post from Prof Smith. PR "In contrast with a long list of over 70 medical research articles on low T3 syndrome that excluded thyroid patients, I have only found three (3) studies so far that included patients being treated for hypothyroidism." https://thyroidpatients.ca/2019/08/29

Scalp Issues & Hair Loss
Hi Lisalou19, Firstly, I hope your newly prescribed shampoo gives you some relief from the continous itch & heat and worse of all hair loss. As a female you treasure your hair as they say it is your "crowning glory". It is sooooooooo depressing. But hey, hopefully we can turn it all around! These are
