High Ferritin, Low Vitamin D and Hair loss
I am suffering from extreme hair loss. My blood work shows low Vitamin D, and Ferritin in the mid 400's. Treating the low Vit. D with supplements. Went to a rheumatologist for autoimmune but all tests turned out ok. Wondering if the Ferritin has something to do with the hair loss, or what is causing

Miracles TRULY do happen!
Yes they do! And I have proof to show it! Yesterday, my daughter was doing my hair for a Christmas work party, and while doing it she noticed that one of my bald spots has new hair growth! What? No way! It can't be possible Christina, it is terminal, that was what the biopsy results showed. No Mom, I

Hair loss STILL!
Hi All, I have been treated with plaquenil for 6 months now and been on imuran and 5mg prednislone for just over two months. My hair has been falling out for about 4 months but the last couple of months it has happened very quickly. I have 3 massive bald patches and the rest of my hair is very thin

Hairloss slowing down
Since the ending of 2015 I was experiencing hairloss but did not know what the cause was. In September 2016 I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, I read that hairloss is a symptom of thyroid disease, before I was diagnosed in September my hair came out in handfuls and its thin but mostly at the front

Help for itchy hair?
Hi, I am new here. I am a 39 year old mother from Jamaica. For a number if years I have been experiencing itchy hair scalp, especially in the middle of my hair. This causes hair loss but only the end breaks off. My hair itches terribly when it's breaking and itchy uncontrollable when it's being comb.

What I hate most about Lupus....
Diagnosed in March 2016. There are lots of Lupus things that bother and frustrate me but the one that upsets me is the hair loss. I have spent the last 3 years searching for a hair loss solution....... Thankfully I found one and now that I look like me again, I feel able to tackle anything Lupus can

Little lost soul!!
In regards to low ferritin levels... What can I take instead of Biotin? I do not want to be taking anything that affects my levels but want to take something that is hopefully going to improve my hair loss. I have B12 and Vit D... Is there a ferritin and folate vitamin? xx

Alopecia Areata
You may already be aware of the details/publicity in the link below, but just in case I thought I'd post. I am also a member of Thyroiduk.org but today I was listening to the Radio this morning LBC and it was about a 'cure' for Alopecia. Apparently they say there is a 'cure' so I'll give the link below

We've Won!
A little time ago I said that one of our papers was in a competition in a scientific journal for the best paper in there over a 4 year period since the journal started. With your help and support, we have won this competition, and out of 12 papers, ours received over one third of the votes. I take this

Hypothyrodism
Have hypothyrodism and take 30 mg daily of armour. I am very short winded when I climb steps or pull on water hose. I have had heart checked and lungs, which are fine. My T3 is 79ng/dl. T4 is 1.1ng/dl. Vitamin D,25 is 68 ng/ml. Is this good enough.
