Dietary advice while on Predisnolene
Can anyone help with dietary advice to avoid weight gain, and hopefully lose weight. I was diagnosed with pmr in July, started on 15 mg now down to 10 & trying slow taper to 9. Low carb difficult as I can’t eat lots of fruit & veg. Any advice really appreciated

Newbie!!
Hello, I am new to the site. I have been low thyroid for over 20 years now. I initially welcomed my diagnosis because I hoped that I would be able to lose the weight that I had gained uncharacteristically for me once I had my thyroxine levels ok, but that didn't happen. I found ThyroidUK and tried

Chronic wheeze but no asthma?
Hi all, Aware this might not be strictly relevant to this forum but I’ve posted before and got some really helpful advice so I thought I’d give it a try - I wonder if anyone has had any similar experiences to mine below: - always had a reactive wheeze to dust. If I took an antihistamine the wheeze went

Asthma symtoms and further test denied
Hi all, this is the first time I post here. I want to share my first experience with (Asthma?) symptoms. Since one year I started to experience episodes of breathless mainly at work, cought and sudden awakenings in the night with suffocation feeling. I always thought it was for anxiety and stress. But

I’m becoming so frustrated with my weight, I run approximately 3 miles 4 times a week and still don’t lose a pound. Trying a low carb diet now

LCHF Dilatory Pattern disturbed briefly -SUGAR LEVEL NOT COMING DOWN .....Afterward!
As an adherent of LCHF diets since 2015 I have been managing my Type 2 condition very satisfactorily. My readings have been around 120 until June 2019. I was trapped into a situation where I was forced to do away with my controlled diets for about a months’ time leaving me with readings around 160

Too much fat
I’m on my 5th day of LCHF and tonight I thought I would cook the meatballs with tomato’s and spinach and mozzarella. Looked lovely but I could only manage a few mouthfuls it was just so oily and greasy, was making me feel sick to be honest. Is it because I’m not used to eating so much fat in my diet.

Asthma?
Hi all, My 9 year old son has had a cough for 3 or so months, it’s a dry cough and he only coughs once but happens every hour or so and sometimes more if he’s talking a lot, it doesn’t bother him at night or when he’s exercising and his chest is clear with no wheeze. I have severe asthma so at the back

LCHF substitutes
I'm looking at my favourite recipes to see how I can adapt them. Normally I would have used some flour to form a roux for thickening sauces and added breadcrumbs when making meatballs, burgers and so on. Are there effective substitutes?

Wheezing and peak flow
Does anyone get the same comments: you’re not wheezing so that’s good...... Also I’m getting different advice from each practioner I see about my peak flow and whether it’s acceptable— I know what they class as acceptable is an asthma attack for me !

Hazelnut Truffle Recipe
Background: I made and enjoyed pavlova this Christmas. In case you don't know, it's basically a soft meringue (aka aerated sugar) covered with cream and more sugar. I very much took a day off my eating plan. I deliberately didn't take any left overs home, but I had some ingredients: double cream, crushed

Day LCHF to see how low (carbs) I can go.
Pic of filling breakfast (I already had slice bacon) Tuna salad for lunch Fish n veg for dinner Ff yoghurt and small fruit n Berry snacks. Still counting cals till head gets around fat and seeing results. Change is hard🐷
