What if we could prevent strokes?
I posted this review of an academic paper in the LCHF group - because it's the sort of thing low-carbers like - but I really think it's one of those things everyone should read. It's particularly relevant to the conversation about statins from a couple of weeks back. https://healthunlocked.com/lchf-diet

Hot drinks
Hi everyone I started low carb 2 days ago still finding my feet 😂 I miss my cups of tea as I had sugar in them as don’t like tea or coffee with out sugar. I only drink water as my main drink but would love to have a hot coffee/tea no and again... thank you in advance

NO MORE PAIN with Keto diet The healthy & endo friendly version (gluten, dairy, red meat free)
After 15 years of endometriosis I kinda just accepted my fate. I am scheduled for surgery after my b-day and thanks to my symptoms I am not working. This gave me a lot of time to research. Driven by pain and a belly so bloated that could easily earn me a seat in the tube I came across this article https

Hello all, newbie no mates here!
Hi all, totally new to this and stumbled across the website quite by accident. Decided it could be just what I need though! I need to lose a few stone, preferably before a wedding in August, so I am following a low carb, high protein eating plan, going for it with an app called walking for weight loss

Healthy Diet? It is neither Low Carbs nor Low Fats- Both could be equally Bad or equally Good...
Very recently, I came across a couple of very thought provoking articles.. As per the studies, which seem to have originated from USA, one needs to be careful while choosing the quality of the Macronutrients one eats namely Carbs, Fats and protein..... The all cause mortality is linked to an un-healthy

Increase in symptoms but peak flow normal?
Sorry for this long thread but I need some advice, I will also be sending a similar email to my specialist hoping she can help me out too. So at my last visit I was pursuaded to give fostair another go for my eosinophilic asthma as symbicort is not bringing the eosinophilic down enough. (Never got on

Diverticular Disease
I’m at a bit of a loss and having a chuckle at the same time. I had a couple of dramatic gastric episodes winding up in hospital. I recently had a CT scan to check out nasties and got the result yesterday. I was told I had extensive diverticular disease and perhaps this was responsible for the gastric

Hospital admission bad asthma with no wheeze
Went to A&E this morning after a terrible night. Went in with a really tight chest unable to speak or get air in or out properly. Was expecting problems as no wheeze. But to my surprise the doctor looking after me could see I was struggling and not responding well to Salbutamol nebs. ITU was mentioned

Asthma Apps
Hi, I was diagnosed with Asthma nearly 2 years ago, and today had my annual review. Very positive on the whole, good control, good inhaler technique and my personal best peak flow has improved.. however she has advised me to be particularly vigilant this hay fever season (my biggest trigger), as I'm

Just got back from seeing the nurse for a review. Why is it every time I get through their doors it starts heart beating too fast. When she took my blood pressure was really high. 170/98 that’s way high for me usually I was borderline 5 years ago so I think I need something got to go back next week

LCHF and clogged arteries
Good morning everyone. I think I may take the prize for longest member who hasn't said a word 😳. I can't remember exactly when I joined up but I check in every day and am in awe of everyone's progress but I have never joined in (ridiculously shy). Over the last year or two I've managed to eat myself

A tale of four hormones
I am gradually getting my head around how and why LCHF works. It’s not enough for me to be told a diet has worked for loads of people, I need my brain to be involved & understand why I have to give up buckwheat pancakes & rye toast. So. Halle Berry does Keto and looks amazing. Bully for her in my view

Just had an episode of Acute Renal Failure and feeling quite distressed
Hello, all! I joined here recently. For the past 12 years, I have had cirrhosis that developed from Type 2 Diabetes and NASH (non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.) I also have a number of other health problems. I spent last week in the hospital with an episode of Acute Renal Failure. My physicians think
