To Eat Meat or Not to Eat Meat: That is the question.
Ok, so I was going through the modules of KidneySchool.org and ran across this: "But What About a Low Protein Diet? If you have chronic kidney disease, your doctor may suggest a low protein diet. Some doctors believe that eating less protein may help the kidneys work a little longer. But doctors do

Improved Fibroscan with low carb diet
HI everyone: After losing 75 pounds with a low carb diet (i weighed 225 due to an anti depressant), my Fibroscan total fat level went down from approximately 75%(over 325) to under 10% (225). The diet was very very challenging, but feeling proud that I did it...now to stay on the diet to keep blood

Noisy breathing
Hello, When ever I have an asthma attack I have very noisy breathing when I inhale, which I thought was a wheeze however the drs always say my chest is clear with no wheeze. The only time they seem to hear a wheeze is when my peak flow drops by 50%. The noise I make always disappears after a nebuliser

Losing weight too fast?
I was reading around and I came across some suggestions that if you lose weight too quickly that your body goes into starvation lockdown, you stop losing weight and it hampers your ongoing weight-loss. Does anyone have any experience of this please? To give context, over a 29 week period, I've lost 28.5

Fostair- benefits and side effects
Hi All I was put on Fostair a few months ago - fine for about 6 weeks then feeling worse again. A few days ago (during my current flare up - worst yet and first A&E trip - joy) I have been told to double it to 2 puffs four times a day. I have been doing this and although my peak flow is coming up a

Raised GGT & ALT and generally feeling unwell.
Hi there, I'm new to all this and was wondering if anyone had any advice to try and ease my mind. I have been quite ill for a few months (bouts of diarrhoea, sickness, stomach pain and bloating and generally feeling crappy and lethargic). 3 weeks ago I ended up in excruciating pain just under my ribs

Feel so low
Good morning Today I have woken feeling poorly and not well inside my body. It’s hard to explain. I have been following low carb for 3 weeks and although I had a loss first week 8lbs I have stayed the same the last 2 weeks. I do feel I have lost inches but just don’t feel healthy if that makes sense?

Looking to try the LCHF as a last resort!
Hi all, I am a newbie. I would like to know the specifics of the low carb high fat diet, the induction phase and weight loss phase meals and what to eat at these stages, perhaps a meal plan for these stages if that's ok. Looking for a sustainable weight loss, and determination to see it thru this time

LCHF diet advice
I have been going to slimming world for just over a year and had lost over 2 1/2 stone. However lately I have been struggling and put on a few lbs and I am also finding as I get older certain foods seem to upset me. I have decided to completely change the foods I eat, I have avoided sugars and rarely

How Do I Handle My Severe Stress?
I'm new here. My husband has diabetes and kidney disease with projected dialysis beginning in 2 to 4 years. He's been on a low carb diet, lost a lot of weight, reduced his insulin significantly, when suddenly, almost overnight, his creatinine levels went bad. Now his blood pressure is very high (200

Hope 680 here.
Hope 680 here. I take Sertide 125 x2 puffs daily. I just wondering if Sertide 125 can be increased . I have had a flare up of my asthma but my peak flow measure is sitting at 340/350 which is normal for me over the past few weeks. My oxygen levels are sitting at 99% when I got checked out at hospital

Hello everyone. I’ve decided to follow the LCHF diet as opposed to counting calories. Can anyone help me please, does it give you headaches and make you tired. I was very tired all day yesterday and have had headaches also.

What now
I have lost 4 stone in the past 18 months and got my blood sugar down to normal levels by cutting carbs increasing protein and fat... However, I have now been diagnosed with CHD which means no red meat and cutting down on white meat and low fat. My question is what do I eat now? Obviously LCHF is

Are you in Keto? Be mindful about your BMD-Bone Mineral density ! Lower BMD DEXA score would mean that you are heading towards osteoporosis
I came across one of my Obese friend who was practicing Keto since last couple of years to reduce his weight and also control his Type 2... His recent Dexa score indicated that his BMD is decreasing very fast...and when he contacted his medical practitioner , he was advised to switch back to a low to

Inhalers
Don’t know ifI have asked this question but how do you get round increased heart rate after using inhalers. I was told by nurse to use it everyday as my peak flow had gone down. Used it for two weeks but it’s unnerving when heart rate jumps up and takes time to go back down. I believe they can cause
