Insulin resistance & Fibro
Hi everyone. Did anyone have heard about connection between insulin resistance and fibromyalgia? This leads to the next question: did anyone tried a low carbohydrate diet and seen an improvement in their fibro pains? Thanks 😊

Current guesses (borrowed from several articles, papers, and studies). I'm seeing a pattern. Comments?
Over the last few months, I've been noticing some trends, and as I spent another nearly sleepless night reading and watching videos, some of the pieces seem to be fitting together. In short, it seems that more and more theories and studies are focusing on mitochondria. In particular, a "biochemical defect

My GCA/LVV experience
My GCA/LVV experience is a warning that the disease does not always present in the typical way we are alert for. I had headaches but no jaw claudication, no tongue pain, no eye symptoms, particularly light flashes in one eye. I had, had fairly typical PMR for 4 years, predictable, bilateral pains in

Covid?
Hello everyone, About 5 weeks ago I came down with Covid. Seemed to get through it ok, but about a week after my asthma starting playing up. Symptoms are breathlessness mainly at night, mucus of chest that’s hard to cough up, tight chest which relieves when taken inhalers. Spo2 is around 97% slightly

Carbs and thyroid
sorry, none of you seem to have understood my question. I am not talking about low carb diets at all. I am asking if a high carb diet will cure an underactive thyroid in a person who is not on medicatrion. If so, where is the research and evidence and why don't endos, GPs etc. suggest adding extra

Away for Easter
Well, my daughter persuaded me to drive me and my husband up to Yorkshire in our motorhome ( the very same one that dropped on my husbands head) to have a relaxing few days with them. I was excited that I'd managed it and looked forward to the lovely weekend, only it couldn't be like that for us. Husband

Well after all does weight really matter
Have just come off my first (and last ) cruise and I was staggered at the amount of people who were not just overweight but obese . Having carefully watched my weight for years and low fat diet plus plenty of exercise it didn’t stop me needing a bypass at 76 . So what am I missing I keep asking myself

Carb cravings and - Muffins!
Just a short one. One of the problems with transitioning to a largely low carb high fat lifestyle is the inevitable craving for bread, potatoes, rice and pasta. When I was a child it was only bread and potatoes - pasta was largely unknown, and rice was a pudding. Anyway, many, many low carb recipes
