Anything about LCHF less than 3 years old?
I have just got back to the LCHF lifestyle after putting on quite a bit of weight during the pandemic (comfort eating cakes and biscuits 🙄). I’m reading some posts for encouragement but find they are all from around 3 years ago and wonder if there are any more recent ones? Not that I suppose advice

Naltrexone : for chronic inflammation, Hashimotos, etc
Low dose Naltrexone was introduced to me by one of the wisest ladies I know. Bolt, it is my hope sharing this will be a small way of reciprocating the things you have introduced to me. I think it will be of interest to you. Or maybe you already take it? I haven’t had time to read today but am posting

Zoe - Personalized Food Mapping App
Which eating plan should you adopt? The Liver Diet, The Atkins, The Low Carb high Fat, The FODMAP?? Do any of them work? This question has bugged me for the last 40 years so I bit the bullet and signed up to the Zoe App and testing regime and although I am still waiting for results, quite interesting

Managing Your Condition
I'm due another routine rheumatology appointment in approximately one months time and as usual, a full battery of blood tests are required. I've had PMR for over 3yrs now and spent much time researching my condition and the effects the steroids COULD have on my body! I know we're all well aware of the

Salt
The British Heart Foundation have recently started to lobby government to put a levy on salt. There’s an interesting article in today’s Telegraph about it. (Sorry not linked it as I wasn’t sure about copyright et al). It describes how many foods have hidden salt. Tinned veg, processed meats and one that

Dr Bredesens Protocol for MSA and LDN
Hi, My father has recently been diagnosed with MSA. I have been looking for therapies or treatments that may be beneficial for him and was wondering if anyone has tried following Dr Bredesens protocol or a ketogenic diet? Also, does anyone have any experience using Low dose Naltrexone for MSA symptoms

Mixed feelings following first GP appointment since PMR diagnosis
Started on 20mg prednisolone mid June, four weeks later reduced to 17.5 mg for four weeks, no problems, reduced to 15mg last Friday. By Monday the pain was back and I was very breathless; when I saw GP face to face, two days ago I was told to go back to 17.5 for two weeks and then try again. I raised

Keto/low carb for Hashimoto’s Hypothyroid
So I’ve been seeing conflicting info online about whether low carb is the right way to lose weight when hypo. Some websites are saying keto causes too much acidity leading to increased inflammation (which we already have too much of) and too little insulin impairs the body’s ability to convert T4 to

Another Medichecks set of results for your expertise please as my brain fog can't make sense of them.
My TSH results through my GP swing from 0.03 mu/L to 8 mu/L over the years and back. In November 21 result was 0.0 mu/L and I was on 150/125 Levothyroxine alternate days. GP decided I should reduce dosage and put me down to 125 mg and retested in January when it came back as 0.1 mu/L so reduced me again

Low Carb on Prednisone for weight loss
Hi all, I hope this isn't a daft question. I've put on just over 1st while taking prednisone, luckily I'm now down to 3mg and doing OK. I understand the best way to lose the weight is by cutting my carb intake. Obviously, starting with processed cakes, biscuits, chocolate etc. But where I'm getting

Low Carb really works for me
May 3 rd this year was my moment of truth when I knew I had to do something about two years of pred use weight gain. After two weeks of thinking I was low carb, the scale had not changed! Discouraged I sought the forum’s help and was alerted to the existence of carbs in many hidden places. It is true

Headache since starting Armour - should I stop taking it?
I have started taking 1 grain of Armour ndt after being on 100 mcg of Levothyroxine. Since starting 10 days ago I have had a headache every day. I have taken Armour before with no headaches that I can remember but changed to Naturethroid when Armour became too expensive. When that was found to be sub-potent

Good news - I am done with PMR!
I want to share some good news... finally my PMR has left me after more than 6 years (December 2016 it began). I had been tapering for the last 6 months but never managed to get below 1mg and still had flares needing to take up to 5mg. I had been very stressed being in an unhappy and emotionally abusive
