Swollen painful hand
Was started on 40 mg of
prednisone
. I have slowly gotten down to 13 mg. Recently I tapered to 12 mg but have not felt very well & suddenly my right hand fingers are swollen & very painful. This has never happened before. Is this some kind of flare?

Questions about using prednisone for a flare
My doctor said I can have
prednisone
if I need it. I was just wondering how much
prednisone
do most people use for a flare-up I have a 5 mg dosage but I don't really know for how many days to use it. I just wondered if anyone has been able use for short term and get better and stop. Thanks

EBRT - Is it the right thing and what to expect?
After DX in November 2018 with Stage IV and Gleason of 5+4 and 4+5, and 5 years of ADT of Lupron (then Orgovyx),
prednisone
5mg, and Zytiga 250mg with low fat breakfast, my PSA stayed stable at 0.4 or 0.5. At end of 2013, PSA started rising to latest value of 0.84.

Prednisone
and tapered off after a couple of years. Had another bout but finally completely off
prednisone
by Sept. 2022. I've had a few of the odd reminders like having a problem getting up from the sofa and being exhausted but nothing that bad. But now it seems my legs won't work right.

I just found out the cause of my autoimmune chronic pancreatitis and it’s not good. I have Sjögren’s syndrome.
I have osteoporosis, not from
prednisone
but from lack of nutrients from the pancreatitis. I need to go on a steroid to help stop my body from effecting multiple lungs, kidney’s, liver and pancreas. I have 4 cysts on my pancreas too. I had lymphoma from Sjogren’s but didn’t know why at the time.

Prednisone to Hydrocortisone
Have had had a rollercoaster of
prednisone
amounts. Around 3mg I start to get stiffness and fatigue. So she put me on Hydrocortisone. 10mg in am and 10mg in afternoon for a month. Month two 10mg in am and 5mg in pm. Then a cortisol blood test. I’ll hear from her.

Stiff and painful neck, a flare?
I’m on 9 mg
prednisone
. I’ve been trying to sort out causes for pain before I try increasing
prednisone
, but it’s a slow process what with waiting for appointments and tests to rule things out. I would appreciate your thoughts.

Ketogenic diet for High risk PCA? American Ginseng for fatigue?
Husband is Gleason 9, PSA 46.6 when diagnosed, completed 28 Proton treatments, on Orgovyx and started Abiraterone and
prednisone
recently. Being treated as high risk and following Stampede trial protocol for high risk localized PCA.

Baker’s Cyst, Medial Meniscus tears
Was put on 40 mg of
Prednisone
daily to start because of the GP’s worry it could be GCA. I’m currently on 4.25 mg and starting to slowly reduce to 4 mg. The summer of 2022, I noticed that I had a lump behind my knee. I showed it to a GP and they sent me for x-rays and an ultrasound.

I did one week of
prednisone
and it was miraculous. But can’t stay on it. Once off pain came right back. It’s a struggle. I try to think about friends with pancreatic cancer or Parkinson’s. Still no one gets it when you says pudendal neuralgia including most doctors. Hang in friends.

Enhertu side effect: pneumonitis (lung inflammation)
Unfortunately this means I have to abandon Enhertu and wait to start any new chemo until the lungs are stabilized through a course of high-dose steroids (60 mg
Prednisone
/day) that will gradually taper off over several weeks.
