OK! Arrived at the 1mg/day prednisone level
Diagnosed with PMR last fall. Put on 13mg/day of Pred. & told to taper off at 1mg/mo. Got down to 2mg/day one month ago but instead of dropping straight to 1mg, after reading here about being careful when your dosage drops to this level, I went to 1mg one day, then 2mg next day, then 1mg next day w

Plantar fascia tear, due to long-term prednisone use?
Following sudden and agonising heel pain on Monday morning, I've seen my physio. He says it's an unusual injury, but likely due to long-term steroids. I have a tear to my plantar fascia, where it inserts under the heel. He strapped it and suggested heel cups to lift my heel (Amazon) and only supportive

Polymyalgia and Rheumatoid arthritis
Over a period of about 7 years I managed to come off
prednisone
but after a time the PMR returned. Since 2022 I have managed to get down to 7mg daily and then have a flare. Back to 10 down to 8 and another flare.

Actemra
I was on
prednisone
and methotrexate for over a year, but then I changed rheumatologists my new one recommended at Actemra actpen. I give myself a dose once every 3 weeks and it has been a great alternative to
prednisone
. My ESR and CRP numbers are always low.

Insufficiency Fracture - likely cause - Prednisilone
She recommend a knee replacement, but is concerned that the
prednisone
would interfere with the success of the replacement process and has referred me to both a knee surgeon and rheumatology. I wonder if anybody else has experienced this situation?

Reducing TCZ?
I feel I'm on the home straight with my GCA/PMR, down to 2mg
prednisone
daily and weekly TCZ, (which I started Nov 21 and buy on private script as methotrexate was a nightmare for me)Rheumy says to get off pred completely before reducing TCZ.

Then we give his oral

Azathioprine dose
Obviously when this all started I stopped taking the Azathioprine (so my immune system could fight) and doubled my
prednisone
dose from 10mg daily to 20mg. This is supposed to be a short term solution but has been going on for sometime now.

shingles
I was diagnosed with PMR 3 years ago and after a fairly bumpy ride I have now been off
Prednisone
for two and a half months. I have been called for a Shingles vaccination. I reacted badly to the Covid jabs each time. I have had Shingles twice!

My question is , is it safe to take
prednisone
with these changes in my health conditions. Anyone who’s in the same situation as I am and taking pred with problems or knows whether it’s I’ll advised , I would be pleased to hear from.

New, A Bit Scared, Would Appreciate Advice.
I was put on
prednisone
for two weeks. It worked very quickly. However the Echo revealed mild leaky Mitral valve, Tricuspid valve and trace Aortic valve, probably related to my EDS.

Rheumatologist refuse to believe I have PMR.
I worked two long physical days at work without
prednisone
and it felt like hell. I am scheduled to work for the rest of the month. How will I get though, sigh........ I do not know if I have PMR, but I can say
prednisone
works where NSAIDS and Tylenol do not. Frustrated....

Down to 1.5mg prednisone now for about 5 days
IMO, it is bizarre, I had no finger or hand issues couple years ago, right before PMR I developed trigger finger but 3 months into
prednisone
use that stopped, but I am left with stiff middle fingers and cannot make a proper fist.

achille’s tendons anyone?
Usually, for me, upping
prednisone
has given relief within a short. Not now. Any thoughts or similar experiences?

cataracts b.c. of long-term steroids
I've been on Trimbow 172.5 for 6 months and on 2 mg
prednisone
for 2.5 years; prior to that I was on Seretide for almost 20 years. Today I noticed a lot of new "dust particles" and "fibers" floating in front of the "image" in my eyes when looking at the sky.

GCA Update
hi wonderful, helpful people, My rheumatologist agreed yesterday to drop my
prednisone
dosage from 60 to 50 mg. I am hoping that will make a difference with my vision, which is still very poor.
