Adrenal testing with PMR
Can adrenal tests be done while on
Prednisone
? I have heard different answers in the past including one Endocrinologist I saw about a year ago regarding extreme fatigue and who would not test me until I was off
Prednisone
. I was on a relatively low dose of
Prednisone
at the time.

I have been struggling to reduce below 13 mgs , but at 12.5now and happy My daughter took me to a psychic and her guide told me to listen to Tuning Fork meditations. I’m listening to an app called Insight Timer and they have Tuning Fork meditations It’s probably placebo but I fancy I’m feeling less

Can’t catch a break.
Well I ended up on 40 mg of
prednisone
with suspected GCA…😩 I was talking to a friend of mine, who said he was on 40 mg of
prednisone
and he was only on it for three weeks his side effects from
prednisone
were so severe. But apparently his GCA went into remission in just three weeks.

Travel and timezones - timing of Prednisone
what is the recommendation for the timing of taking
Prednisone
when traveling from the US to Europe (7 hour time difference). so for example, if I take
Prednisone
at 12pm daily in the US., how do I adjust to taking the
Prednisone
around 12pm daily in Europe?

Off Prednisone!
With
Prednisone
came high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and high cholesterol. Oh! and weight gain. I am hoping now to be able to lose some weight and perhaps get off other medications. I was wondering what experiences others have had. Thanks, DW

25mg prednisone first trimester- long term outcomes in baby
I’m now in third trimester but have been reading that
prednisone
during pregnancy can be associated with developmental delay in infants and other problems. Any ladies here that took
prednisone
? Were your babies ok?

Loss of appetite?
After 7 years of low dose
prednisone
, I am finally off it! Hooray! BUT....I seem to have lost my appetite. I finished
prednisone
about 3 weeks now and now I really have no appetite. I feel hunger and I can eat, but hardly anything appeals to me so I am relying on easy, comfort food.

apalutamide vs. abiraterone
My husband has been recommended ADT + abiraterone +
prednisone
for two years. My friend who is an oncologist suggested apalutamide instead as it doesn't need to be supplements with
prednisone
and has less side effects. Wanted your opinion.

Update
I seen my respiratory consultant today who is convinced the lowering of
prednisone
by rheumatologist to 10/5 daily ie 10 one day 5 the next has definitely caused my new right sided pleural effusion so he’s now increased
prednisone
to 30mg and I’m on a very slow taper as well as antibiotics, he now believes

GCA-Diagnosis
So far on my journey after diagnosis of GCA was put on 60 mg
Prednisone
and went down slowly to none. Have been on Actemra shot weekly for 16 months now with no flare. Has anyone gotten of Actemra as well as
Prednisone
with no problems?

reduced prednisone
I’m now reducing
prednisone
from 20mg to 15mg only second day and my stomach has swollen like a balloon making it very uncomfortable for me to move around. I really don’t know what to do. Has anyone else suffered this?

Continue Forever on Low Dose Prednisone?
I had GCA/PMR in 2017, and slowly tapered
prednisone
over 4 years to 0. Then after almost a full year off of
prednisone
, in 2021 I had a relapse. Started again on 60 mg
prednisone
and Actemra injections . Right now I’m taking 1.5 mg
prednisone
and Actemra every other week.

Phasing down prednisone
My doc said to phase down my
prednisone
, but wasn't very specific, just not to stop all at once. I'll have a week's worth of 5mg
prednisone
tablets left when the abi runs out, so I could just do half-doses for two weeks, but wondering what y'all think. TIA!

prednisone reduction advice.
DL. Could you send me a link to the reduction guide. I have managed to reduce gradually from 15mg to 10mg with no ill effects. I’m a little unsure how long I should stay with this level.
