I HAVE CHRONIC LUNG FAILURE, THE DOCTOR PUT ME 20mg OF PREDNISONE EVERY DAY. IS THAT TOO MUCH?

She was advised that taking hydrocortisone with prednisone then slowly tapering off prednisone might work for her. Has anyone had experience with hydrocortisone to taper off prednisone.....? Thanks for any advice Expat Ray

I thought once I stopped Chemo I would be tapered off Prednisone. My MO has kept me on it. 10mg a day. Is this a common practice ? I'm also on Orgovyx and Nubeqa. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I have been on prednisone for two months now. I have been getting diarreah almost daily for the last few weeks. I have just been diagnosed with diabetes as well. I was pre-diabetic before prednisone, but am now considered diabetic.

Been reducing ok from 15 mg down to 8 Using a slow reduction about 1 mg prednisone a month. Started 7.5 mg November 1st and after 5 days could start my aches getting worse waking up and later at night. Plan on going back to 8.0 mg for awhile. Am I in that critical dose that gets hard to get pass.

Does anyone have experience with stopping prednisone? I am 3 years post transplant and am taking 5 mg per day. The Transplant Nephrologist says that I can just stop it. I thought that it had to be tapered, even at that low dose? Thanks!

It seems reasonable that the narcotics will control the withdrawal pain, and I might get to end prednisone while I recover from the surgery.

I have had PMR for almost 4 years now with multiple attempts to taper lower. I tried methotrexate and Kevzara to help me taper but had to quit each for various reasons. When I stopped taking them my PMR raged back and I had to go up again to control the pain. I am now at 7 and 1/2 mg per day the lowest

I understand that abiraterone (Zytiga) requires one to take the steroid Prednisone to replace cortisol that has also been suppressed, and to counteract hypertension and liver injury. I just wish I could understand Prednisone dosing.

I have been tapering prednisone by .5mg a month and am currently at 6mg. I have had no problems in the way of flares since beginning the Prednisone regime a year ago.

Was first dx with pmr (2018) and given lots of prednisone. Then gca was added with infusions of actemra. The prednisone was making me feel better. Nodules in my lungs were growing and in Sept of 23, I had a bronchoscopy and granulomas showed up. So gpa was dx.

was looking at info on GPA initial treatment, and t A doctor/rheumatologist (USA) mentioned using a drug instead of steroids for initial treatment that was very expensive but negated the need for steroids high dose. 2ndly I am already on Leflunomide 20 mg daily for Psoriatic Arthritis and it is working

Oncologist said double prednisone to 10mg . I have cataracts and thinning skin and bruising from prednisone. Has any one had this experience and what was done to resolve issue from Zuniga side effects. Thanks for your help

I am curious about the best time to take Prednisone? I have GCA and have been taking it when I wake up for the day, but I'm curious about how others are taking it to be most beneficial?

Not bad yet as I’m taking Zicam and Niquil , but I worried about the prednisone and immune system ‘s response to the virus. If I have to take Antibiotics will it interfere with the prednisone and PMR treatment? Will I have to stop the prednisone to treat cold?

His medical oncologist changed his Oral drug to Zytiga with prednisone. He is told not to eat anything two hours before and one hour after Zytiga. And usually prednisone is taken after a meal. So should he take Zytiga and take a break of one hour and then have prednisone after the meal?
