Should I See A Rheumatologist?
I was in a lot of pain & he put on 40mg
prednisone
, which after joining this group I realized was on the high side. By 11/17/21 he had me down to 15mg. I have been up & down from that due to flares. Currently I'm at 17.5 mg & will work down from there.

Kindly requesting help again
unfortunately it now seems I have a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis as well. I’ve been really unwell with severe pain. Still waiting for an NHS appointment. Paid to see a Private Rheumatologist and I’ve also had an ultrasound scan. With all that being said, because of all the different inflammatories

Drop in FT4 and FT3 but no change in meds.... confused!
Evening everyone, its been a while since I've been on here. Hope everyone is well? I have an appointment next week with my Endo and as he always does he sends me for bloods a few weeks before, for some reason this time they forgot to do the FT3 and he wanted to check my morning cortisol too, so he sent

Celebrex while on prednisone
My question to you, after reading many cautionary tales, do you recommend I stop taking Celebrex while on
prednisone
? I know it’s not recommended, is hard on the stomach, can cause heart problems but oh my! I feel like my old self in all senses.

Prednisolone and low stomach pains
Because of a vasculitis flare up I recommenced prednisolone 15mg this morning with my breakfast of porridge and blueberries. Within 2 hours I git severe stomach pains- very low down - which hasn't gone away. I spoke to my GP a short while ago and have been advised to stop them and have an appointment

Could a Wasp sting challenge adrenal response?
I was stung by a wasp yesterday morning and lost the whole day to pain and fatigue. It felt as if my body was responding to the attack of the tiny sting and although it wasn’t what I believe to be a full blown anaphylactic response involving swelling and difficulty breathing, within an hour my lower

Just started MTX yesterday
Thought I would share that I started MTX 7.5 mg yesterday evening. I was terrified of the side effects as I hate nausea. So I was just lying there in bed waiting for it.... I never came!! I fell asleep after 2.5 hours after taking my 5 mg nighttime pred. at 11.30 PM. So far so good. Now I need to increase

Brittle Bones
I’ve been on the Lupron, Abiraterone, and
Prednisone
treatment for about 7 months. I just broke a rib leaning on a chair. Do these drugs cause your bones to become easier to break? Luckily I get an MRI and the PSMA PET Scan tomorrow. Should be interesting to see I hope. Thoughts? Thanks!

Bells Palsy that never was
Hi all, I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was diagnosed with Bells Palsy', and put on prednisolone for 10 days, it didn't work, and I was sent to an ENT man, who did an MRI which confirmed that I did not have the Bells Palsy, but they found a small tumour active and moving in my left facial area. Totally desperate and abandoned (sorry- this is a long rant)
I have not posted for a long time, mainly because I’ve been in excellent health. In summary, I was diagnosed with GCA in May 2017, had terrible reactions to Prednisolone (severe psychosis being the worst- apparently 1 in 20 people suffer this) such that my husband had to call out the Crisis team. After

Just starting on this journey…..
Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with GCA and PMR in June 2023 so very much a newbie and it’s taking me a while to get my head round these conditions. There’s so much to learn and understand! From being a very fit 69yr old attending several high intensity fitness classes a week, I have gone to someone who
