Prednisone

He wants me to stay on 15mg prednisone for another 2 weeks then do staggering one day 15 next day 10 for 2 weeks then down to 10 again. If my eyes get worse I have to go straight to eye infirmary.

do I take prednisone after surgery since I will be fasting overnight? How long do I have to wait until I can bend over? Does it take longer to heal with prednisone? I'm on 3 mg.

Until months after being totally off the prednisone? It’s a very discouraging thought.

I can put up with the pain as I "do not" wish to have prednisone in my life if at all possible...the acid reflux and the slow healing made life a misery. Any comments are welcome Thank you

Started on new meds, Orgovix and Erleada (without prednisone) last month (April 2024). These are extremely powerful drugs. My PSA and testosterone dropped precipitously after only one month. But the side effects are brutal. Real serious fatigue.

My immediate goal is to tapper off the prednisone as soon as possible, and look into the Tocilizumab as an alternative. Thank you.

We have surmised there is no Uptake now Abiraterone/Prednisone caused terrible blood pressure issues. some days as high as 190/75. Abiraterone dosage was reduced to 750 mg daily along with 5 mg Prednisone.

I'll take prednisone any day to keep my eyesight. I'll see the rheumatologist on Friday morning. As much as I looked forward to getting to zero, I feel safer now. I look forward to getting to a low-maintenance dose. It's OK.....💞

I don’t know if stiffness is pmr or statin given I am on low dose of prednisone. Your thoughts.

I have been on Prednisone for 5/years for PMR and GCA . I have had a pretty good run with no major side effects until this last flare 20 mg and my mind is not where it should be ..

I was on 7mg prednisone, easing into 6.75, when I had my cardiac ablation on April 15. Went back to 7 mg however, upped it with cardiac inflammation, 5 mgs for 5 days and resumed 7. Then I developed a chest cold with fever and put on abx. Used sick day rules and now back to 7.

I need some help finding a Dr that knows about PMR in WA state. My Dr wants me off the Pred. I am unable to take less than 7 mg. a day. Any information would be very helpful. Dog Mom

Started prednisone August 2022. Starting at 7.5 mg i did long slow taper per guidelines decreasing 0.5 mg each time. I slow tapered to 1.5 mg by April 8. After 13 weeks at 1.5 mg, I started to feel pain in my shoulders that didn't go away. I tried 2 mg for 10 days but that wasn't enough.

I am a type 2 diabetic so don’t want prednisone. Just wondering if safe to take horizant, Gabapentin and pram all in same day ?

I have experienced a waining of the discomfort, pain, frequency and immediacy of the diarrhea since starting the Prednisone Friday. It’s now Saturday October 14 day +79. I do still have the diarrhea. As you are able to access this can be a bumpy road towards recovery.

Prednisone hasn't helped. Nothing is helping. I'm going out of my mind from the stress and anxiety it is causing me. No Dr. can tell me what is happening and there are no good tests to show anything.

As I had requested this it seems that the GP is willing to give it a try., Am up now to 15mg from 10mg. Been on now for 6 days cannot say much improvement as yet. To be honest, I am however not in a great amount of pain but heavily limping towards the bad right leg and flat footed when walking Just

Hi I was diagnosed in April 22 and put on 15mg Prednisone. I have managed to taper down to 5mg twice and this time thought it had been successful.

So can this all be brought about by prednisone as I really suspect I have had various blood tests with high red blood cells present along the way. Also I am on PPi's esomeprazole 40mg per day.

Diagnosed withPMR with GCA components. 18 weeks on Prednisone. Starting at 15mg weaned to 10 mg within 9 weeks. Tried to go to 7.5 but Headache symptoms returned . Resolved going back to 10 mg. After another 3 weeks attempted to alternate 10 and 7.5 every other day.
