I am currently being treated for latent TB with Rifampin and on prednisone 6mg. I was doing so so well before this new med and it seems rifampin decreases the effects of prednisone which I’ve noticed so much lately! Ugh! I feel as if I’m back to square 1 with the PMR. Is anyone aware of how much I should increase prednisone to get some relief!

No way of knowing - speak to your doctor and ask if it is OK to increase the dose 1mg at a time to find what works. This is a bit different from a usual flare where creeping up doesn't work well. I assume you will be on the Rifampin for some months?

I too was treated for latent TB with Rifampin. I was on 15 mg prednisone at the time. I took it for 9 weeks then had to stop due to serious GI issues and PMR pain. My rheumatologist said the rifampin keeps the prednisone from working. Taking more would do nothing. It took a long while to get that flare under control. It is no fun. I hope you can get it under control soon. Infectious disease Dr said 9 weeks should be enough. Sure hope so. I was supposed to take it for ten weeks. Best wishes.
