Scans with iodine and thyroid patients
Are tests like CT and MRI tests that use an iodine solution safe for thyroid patients?

Confused
Hi, I had hyperthyroidism for 5 years and then had radioactive iodine treatment. Subsequently I became hypothyroid and am on 100mcg levothyroxine. I feel quite symptomatic and my most recent results are- Free T4 21.8 TSH 4.14 Free T3 3.8. I am going to see my gp tomorrow because on paper those levels

RAI and pulmonary fibrosis
I have just had RAI - 5 GBq - and was reading about side effects on this site when something called radiation fibrosis popped up. This has terrified me as my Grandad, Dad and Aunt all died from pulmonary fibrosis ( the same as Keith Chegwin?) - my Dad's was triggered by a general anaesthetic and he

Thyroid - Results from recent blood test with Medichecks
Thyroid Check UltraVit 06 Dec 2017 I note that you have a thyroid condition but it is not clear from your notes what this is and whether you are taking medication for it. Your thyroid stimulating hormone, thyroxine and T3 are all normal which suggest healthy thyroid function. Your thyroglobulin

Thyroid blues
I am an American recently separated from the US Army. I got a thyroid disorder from military service and have been dealing with a lot of issues. I was first diagnosed with Graves Disease. I started feeling overly anxious (more than normal even for a soldier) and my heart rate which used to be 60 bpm

Painful shoulders
I had my thyroid out in June. My right shoulder was a little painful before surgery, but now both of them keep me awake at night. I just had an MRI but was wondering if anybody else has pain in the shoulders that goes down the arms. Little finger feel sort of numb also. I can't imagine how surgery

T3 without a prescription?
Hi, I had RAI in July after trying and failing with block and replace (Graves) and Endo said this was the only way to go. At the moment on 100mcg Levothyroxine and the nurse said TSH and T4 normal even though I told her I feel dreadful, which means total exhaustion to the point of hardly functioning

Help with fairly sudden resting pulse rate of 90.
I had a bypass op in July following a very mild heart attack. I was on Nature Throid 2+1/4 grains and had seen my endo on day before -TSH 0.03 . T4 12.9 and T3 4.2. Comment to GP was that TSH represented over medication. I have dropped N T from 2+1/2 grains to 2 grains this week but I know this will

I keep collapsing
I had Graves in 2003,, then RAI in 2009 on Levo since. I have been struggling badly since beginning of August. My body just keeps crashing sometimes in terrible pain like electric currents going through my body. I have just found out i have low lung capacity after paying to see a Private Integrated

Hypo after RAI - Some advice regarding blood test results appreciated
Hi - hoping for a steer in the right direction if possible. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in 2007, RAI in 2010 and hypothyroid ever since. Never any confirmation of Graves disease but I'm presuming that was the cause. Been on 100mcg since I went underactive. Feeling awful recently - very fatigued

Hypothetical question
What happens if you stop taking levothyroxine? I had RAI treatment on 2016 September 2017 endocrinologist said your normal and signed me off 6 weeks later my gp re tests and it’s all too high. Doc dropped me down to 150mcg and my system has gone to sleep Seems I only function well on a high
