It should have read in there that I’m back on carbimazole (hoping to come off it again soon). Also, forgot to mention that my understanding of the definition of a goitre is an enlarged thyroid, but my thyroid isn’t enlarged so I’m confused. Any thoughts? I’m questioning diagnosis, and therefore questioning

Toxic multi nodular goitre
Ultrasound showed no enlargement of thyroid, just heterogenous (bumpy?) appearance with (due to?) small nodules throughout. Negative thyroid antibodies with TPO of 20 (TG antibodies not checked). Different opinions as to cause ie 1. Nodules are producing thyroxin leading to hyperthyroidism and 2. Nodules

Endo appointment next week
Hi everyone, I posted back in July to ask for advice on my blood test results. I've since been seeing a private endo, and have more blood test results. I'm seeing him again next Wednesday and want to get some advice on what to push for when I see him. A bit of background, I had RAI in September 2018

Too much iodine
I see a functional doc here in the US. I have blood drawn monthly and usually things are mostly fine. A little over two months ago my bloodwork showed my iodine level to be low, he told me to supplement so I did. I was feeling fine, had my bloodwork last month which showed my iodine had gone back to

Radioactive iodine treatment worries
Hi everyone, I am due to have RAI on Friday following a thyroid uptake scan today, and as I am looking into it all, all I find are negative stories about how awful it is and the problems that follow. Can anyone explain what happened to me?
For the past few years I have thought that I was lactose intolerant so I switched to lactose free milk for my morning coffee and cereal and everything seemed to be much more comfortable stomach wise. When I started taking Levothyroxine earlier on this year after a while it seemed to bring back some of

Carbimazole side effects
I am quite intolerant of Carbimazole - liver enzymes are abnormal and my white cell count is low -neutropenia and really sore gums/teeth. All a reaction to the meds but my Endocrynologist insists the alternatives medications are not much better. It’s take the meds or surgery or RA Iodine - my anti-bodies

2nd question re Hashimotos
I didn't have any replies to earlier request for advice today so perhaps no-one has Hashimotos on this forum? Diagnosed today- 2nd question is what dietary changes are wise and what effect does iodine have- seems to be conflicting advice - particularly re fish so quite unsure here.

Conversion problems :(
My endo strongly insisted that I should not take T3 or even increase T4. We almost had an argument and at the end he was really angry. So we reached a compromise I increased my T4 from 75mcg to 100mcg and these are the results. TSH 0.02 ( 0.30-4.20) FT4 26.5 ( 12.00-22.00) FT3 4.4 (3.10-6.80) previously

"... thyroid stimulatory hormone (TSH) and prostate specific antigen (PSA) ..."
New study from Hungary [1]. Odd to think that the thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) might affect PSA, or vice versa. "PSA levels were higher in patients with TSH below (n = 405) than in those with TSH within reference range (TSH 0,35-4,95 mU/ml) (n = 6698) (PSA level: 1.118 [0.639-2.338] vs. 0.920 [0.508

summary of a visit to my neurologist
Since I havent seen my neurologist in about TWO YEARS, I had a bunch of questions for him. here they are and here are his answers: Any value in genetic testing? No. Should we test my gut bacteria? No. Would Stem cell replacement be beneficial? Still experimental. No. Have you ever heard of the Marty
