Radio iodine treatment and cancer risk

Hi,I have recently been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism due to thyroid nodules.I have been offered RAI treatment and was okish about it until I read this article. breast cancer.org. Apparently studies have found that 53percent of pantient 5years after treatment developed breast or stomach cancer.Thats a very high percentage.??

I'd say that figure is very suspect and exaggerated. Do you have a link to the article?

I presume you read this on the breast cancer site, it does say " the fact is that the vast majority of patients treated with radioactive iodine did NOT develop cancer"

Yes I know,but that does seem quite a lot.
