Concern taking. Now varsatan and potassium citrate

Hi I’m really concern my new dr change my medication. From norvasc to varsatan and I did some research and it said that it could make ur potassium high and that’s bad for the kidneys especially since both are potassium wat should I do I’m really worried can u guys give me some advice plzzz I’ll appreciated thank u

Hi, is there any way for you to see a kidney doctor? I recently went through some things, the timing was weird but I had an ultrasound because gfr numbers were off. To make a long story short in this timeframe, a kidney stone dropped, had same day surgery, kidney stone had passed, ( which they have no idea how I passed a 6 mm stone and didn’t know it), but my doctor looked at kidney. I will be working with him. From what it sounds, many doctors just aren’t knowledgeable. Until you get an answer, I would drink lots of water, I drink about 100 ounces a day at minimum and my doctor definitely gave his approval. If me, I would try to get answers, cautiously watch sodium, potassium, phosphorus intake from foods.

Thankz I do see my kidney doctor every 3 months I’m just really worried about drinking the potassium citrate and valsartan I don’t want my potassium to get high that could hurt my kidney

I looked up info on the potassium med and it sure doesn’t sound like you should take it. You might look it up as well as the other. Not trying to scare you, I am just trying to also stay informed. I swear kidney stuff sounds like a silent epidemic

I looked it up too but the potassium citrate I have to take bcuz I had kidney stones in the pass pluz my urine acid is really low so my old dr told me I have to take it

I guess I would really search for answers. It has been my understanding from what I have been told and what I have read, that high uric acid is is more concerning than low. I do know that some bodies make stones more than others. I am watching my eating, a lot of water, but the doctor doesn’t think I am a stone maker.

Thankz for U advice wat I’m more concern about is that I’m drinkin that medication with this blood preassure med that make your potassium high. When I go to the dr in January I’ll tell my concern 👍
