I had a bypass op in July following a very mild heart attack. I was on Nature Throid 2+1/4 grains and had seen my endo on day before -TSH 0.03 . T4 12.9 and T3 4.2. Comment to GP was that TSH represented over medication.
I have dropped N T from 2+1/2 grains to 2 grains this week but I know this will mean lowering my T3 and I have been aiming to get that higher. I had RAI in 2013. Anyone any ideas?
I am going to have to see the cardiac people I think but is the NDT the cause. I know that T3 and heart are connected but can anyone recommend literature for guidance?

What were the lab ref ranges for FT4 and FT3? TSH 0.03 is supressed but you aren't overmedicated if FT4 and FT3 are within range.
Doctors are concerned that suppressed TSH will increase the risks of atrial fibrillation and osteoporosis although the Rotterdam Study finds no association between TSH and atrial fibrillation. press.endocrine.org/doi/abs...
Reducing dose will lower FT4 and FT3 and raise TSH, just as raising dose will increase FT4 and FT3 and further suppress TSH.
Hopefully your cardiologist will take the view that low T3 is less desirable than low TSH.
