Supplements and blood test levels along with over 50 and iron question
I’ve searched the forum, but haven’t been able to find much regarding over age 50 and iron. I would appreciate any input. I’m 55 years old and have Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism. I have supplemented with iron and a high level multivitamin with iron for years. I have just now dropped the iron supplement

Just Got out of ER. Have to have surgery on hernias. Nervous. Has anyone had this done? Was Mesh used?
Hi, had severe pain and was taken to ER. Was diagnosed with several problems and feeling a bit overwhelmed. I know alot of these problems occur because of straining due to severe constipation. Unfortunately, Have to resort to a stimulant laxative as nothing else works. The Gastro does not want me to

My "Osteoporosis" Journey
This is just copy and paste of an account I wrote to keep track of things for myself. Please note I have no medical training and I haven't checked to see if the web links at the end still work. I think most will. Since writing this account I've had a second DXA scan showing that within a year my bone

Strain even when BMs soft
Does anyone else have this problem? When I tell medics I often have to strain to pass a bm they assume I have hard, pellety motions - in fact they are usually quite soft. I struggled to pass anything today but was very conscious that there was something there to pass - ended up having to use a glycerine

methotrexate and calcium citrate / magnesium rather than alendronic
Hi Has anyone had experience of taking Calcium citrate + Vit D3 (in one tablet) and magnesium when taking methotrexate? Having read some rather disturbing side effects from taking Alendronic acid I would rather take the calcium and magnesium. Any help would really be appreciated. Astrid
