Just Got out of ER. Have to have surgery on hernias. Nervous. Has anyone had this done? Was Mesh used?
Hi, had severe pain and was taken to ER. Was diagnosed with several problems and feeling a bit overwhelmed. I know alot of these problems occur because of straining due to severe constipation. Unfortunately, Have to resort to a stimulant laxative as nothing else works. The Gastro does not want me to

My "Osteoporosis" Journey
This is just copy and paste of an account I wrote to keep track of things for myself. Please note I have no medical training and I haven't checked to see if the web links at the end still work. I think most will. Adding June 2024: Importance of Vitamin C in collagen formation. Here is an article which

Strain even when BMs soft
Does anyone else have this problem? When I tell medics I often have to strain to pass a bm they assume I have hard, pellety motions - in fact they are usually quite soft. I struggled to pass anything today but was very conscious that there was something there to pass - ended up having to use a glycerine

methotrexate and calcium citrate / magnesium rather than alendronic
Hi Has anyone had experience of taking Calcium citrate + Vit D3 (in one tablet) and magnesium when taking methotrexate? Having read some rather disturbing side effects from taking Alendronic acid I would rather take the calcium and magnesium. Any help would really be appreciated. Astrid

Results of 6 month personal recording of RLS
Hi All I told you that I was keeping a chart of RLS incidences and possible causes. Since starting to take Magnesium Citrate (2x200mg daily) my RLS has definitely decreased to a more manageable level. I 'top up' with Iron Bisglycinate 20 mg daily when I am told I have a low level (which has occurred

SIBO: akin to leaky gut; Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth. Difficult to treat, though found info on Lugol's Iodine? Can we do iodine?
Now considering the possibility of having SIBO as well.. Looked it up on line. Found references to Lugol's Iodine. Iodine, the double edged sword. Do we or don't we...yet we get told to eat seaweed? I am confused, fed up, not feeling well and seriously running out if patience. My bowel consultant acts

I been getting weak legs for a while now, it’s from my calves to my feet. They feel like they’re tingling a bit genuine weakness and muscle twitches on my toes. Sometimes on my left hand as well. When I payed a visit to my GP I was told it may be vitamin D Deficiencies as the blood results came back

Having cut right back in January now fully accept that close to full abstinence is required to keep the recovery process on track. There is very clear research linking this to leaky gut, estrogen dominance and poor absorption of minerals etc. If you do no more than this alongside taking magnesium oil

Magnesium Citrate: it’s uses and side effects.
Magnesium citrate is mainly used as a laxative to help treat constipation, especially when dietary and behavioral changes have not been effective Magnesium citrate is essentially a combination of magnesium and citric acid. The former is composed of positively charged atoms, while negatively charged atoms

Don't forget calcium.
I am mentioning again, as I have somewhere in the past on here, the helpfulness of calcium for RLS. It doe not take it away the fact that a person has RLW, but what it does is to calm the nerves themselves. (Magnesium also helps with this.) My chiropractor, as well as other sources, have recommended

Adding T3 to T4, week 1: progress report
Hi - I have Hashis. Following advice from a thyroid-sympathetic endo, I have, for the last week, been adding 6.25mcg T3, 3 x daily on top of my 100mcg levo. I've also been eating GF and for the last couple of days, DF as well. And taking various vitamin and mineral supplements as if my life depended
