Beeing referred questions please!
Hi, Wondered if I could get some advice/experience please. I have an appointment with the GP to get my son, 2, referred to a consultant for his asthma. This shouldn't be a problem as in his asthma nurse's opinion he should have been referred already but we were hopeful to try and get things sorted with

Bad breathing today... anxiety has crept up!
Hi everyone, I have been managing really well with my anxiety for the last few weeks, in fact I pretty much felt rid of it apart from my breathing problems - but even that for the last 5/6 days have been really manageable and almost gone. However for no apparent reason today is bad again, my breathing

Does any one else get this?
Hi all, Generally doing O.K. over here. I have been having a bit of trouble the last few weeks, but have seemed to have some luck with taking more antihistamine, but am a bit sleepy. When I have asthma trouble, I get a really tight chest, all of a sudden, and even if I take my inhaler it can take

Rituximab,Toxilizumab, and the Scleroderma Conference in Texas!
Hello everyone! It has been a while since my last blog, all my best intentions went out of the window with a downhill turn in health.I remember reading some questions about Rituximab and thought I'd let you know my situation. Very briefly: I have diffuse systemic sclerosis, severe lung fibrosis

Pharmacy - why do they...?
Ask questions about medication when you collect a prescription? Just wondering as mine never have before but yesterday they asked me how often I took my antihistamine, did I take my preventer everyday, how often did I take my reliever and I wasn't sure why they were asking. Also there wasn't anyone else

bee stings
Has anyone else had an odd reaction to bee stings? I have been stung five times and the initial swelling went down but have returned 5 days later and has swollen up worse, red, itchy and very puffy.I have taken antihistamines but am wondering if my antibodies have gone into overdrive in the same way

New to asthma and the boards and would like to know, is anyone else rattling?!
Hello! I just thought I'd introduce myself and say hi - I've been lurking for a bit as a guest and this seems like a lovely community. I was diagnosed with asthma about a year ago (after many years of worsening chest infections and then a cough that wouldn't go away and was so severe I broke a rib)

Giving up, putting up
This is a bit of a whine. I can't get my asthma under proper control. I'm waking up at 4am and 7am needing my inhaler, and then needing it regularly throughout the day as well. I'm taking antihistamines, which don't seem to be helping either. So I'm starting to just think, sod it, I'll just put up

Hayfever / Asthma in young child/ new to asthma
Ive got a 4 year old who has been diagnosed with 'hay asthma'. It started when he wa a few months old ( in the summertime) I noticed he had a strange raspiness when he breathed - the docs said he had a cold. He had several episodes of this over a couple of years, until last summer when he was 3 and

Aaargh! It's raining pollen!
I woke up this morning in dire need of inhaler, but thinking ""ooh, nice day, let's enjoy the sun"". But no. It is raining pollen. It actually looks as though it is snowing, the stuff is coming that heavily from the trees! Perhaps I could open the window to get some air in (I let the cat out earlier

Rant about hayfever
So much as I'm really glad that the sun is shining again, my hayfever has been bad for the last week - 10 days even though the pollen forecast says the count is low. I'm taking fexofenadine and nasonex on top of my inhalers and have been since the beginning of March. Yet if I go outside/open any windows

Any treatments for cholinergic urticaria?
I have cholinergic urticaria which is induced principally by exercise. I moved to the UK age 18 from Spain and took up intensive sports (swimming/gym/cycling). I developed the allergy age 21 and it is induced principally by sport. I have had it now for 7 years and given up most sports. I have tried
