Feeling miserable
On Saturday afternoon I can almost pinpoint the time when my cough started and muscles began to ache. Since a few friends and neighbours had been ill over the past few weeks, I knew that The flu virus had invaded my body. Only three weeks ago I had my flu vacination, either it hasn't worked or this particular

FLU JAB AND STATINS
Hi was reading the other day where it said that if you are taking cholesterol lowering lowering medication like Simvastatin, it lowers the defences of the flu injection. Interesting , just about everyone with COPD has the flu injection, and I bet a big percentage of them also take statins !! Neo

Is it advisable to get the flu jab?
Hi, I have SLE and UCTD and was wondering whether I should be having the flu jab ? Am feeling pretty rough at the moment and I saw my rheumy yesterday who said I'm having a flare at the moment. Really don't want to be catching the flu too!! She made no mention of the flu jab. My GP hasn't mentioned

WISH I HAD BEEN THERE!
My husband ,newly diagnosed with A.F. and in receipt of letter from G.P. offering flu jab, went to have this this morning with the practice nurse. She said " I don't know why you need this. It's not as if A.F. is serious. Nearly everyone over the age of 60 has it". My husband replied that the doctor

Flu jab
I've just been told by my surgery that I am not entitled to a free jab. I had my Ivor Lewis in July 2012 with chemo before the op. I am 64 and have had free jabs for the last two years. I'm not bothered about the money 😎 but wondered what the experiences of others on the site may have been? Best wishes

Time off after transfer? Achy muscles?
Just curious if people took much time off work after transfer? I was told by the clinic it is a personal choice, that you can pretty much get back to normal right away apart from a list of things to avoid for a week. I had ET yesterday and just thought I'd take it easy today & tomorrow and then it's

Hashimoto's and the flu jab
Does anybody have any links to evidence regarding the safety of having the flu jab when you have an autoimmune disease like Hashimoto's? I wouldn't normally even consider taking the jab but I currently work closely with a colleague who constantly has colds and flu-like illnesses, so I'm concerned I'm
